Drive Modes

Has anyone actually tested if the ECO mode is more economic? I get that the throttle and tranny mapping is less aggressive, but I wonder if there is any difference between ECO or just using a light foot in standard.

My guess is that there is but you probably won't be able to measure it. OEMs measure FE actions in tenths of a percent, however, there is no Fed FE requirement for F-250/350 so not as much scrutiny is spent obsessing over every little action like in the other under 8500lb vehicles. I would categorize it as a directionally correct mode for reduced fuel but negligible. I use it for the driveability aspect, not any fuel reduction.

Part of the benefit of this mode is removing the negative impact (fuel-wise) of aggressive transient throttle input. If you try to do this in normal mode you are replicating the algorithm and gaining some of the benefit. I find it takes a real soft touch touch, though.

Normal mode... but I'm going to check out Tow Haul mode. It was my understanding that the modes only affected the transmission.

For y’all using Tow Haul all the time, does it seem to burn through DEF faster? I used TH some early on but went back to normal when I’m not hauling. I for sure burn through more DEF when I tow regardless what mode I’m in but just wondering how TH affects DEF consumption when not towing if it does at all.

I rarely use tow/haul even when towing, if under 3k.

Something about this truck just makes me not care anymore
100% agree! I used to be heavy on the pedal, still kinda am in other cars, but that beast in the driveway, smh, it has a zen calming effect on me when driving.

Do you see a big difference in gas mileage? I run in "Normal" and I'm getting 18mpg. Mostly flat in Houston.
I didn’t buy the truck for good gas mileage. 😂 I get about 15mpg, I think? I don’t really keep track of it. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Bet. All about that skibidi rizz but that's pretty sus, fam, no cap.
That's deadass legit fire or whatever these fucking retarded kids say nowadays.
