It can happen anywhere, yesterday the Texas Hill Country burned in several areas. Winds out of the west, gusts to 60mph, humidity 6%. Got within 15 miles of me, but thankfully north of me. All is either out or under control now. I want to thank all the firefighters and especially the Texas A&M Forestery service, this Longhorn appreciates you. Gig'em!

Glad all is safe

Yeah man wind and fuel moisture can make for some crazy fire behavior. Glad you are safe. People underestimate how fast fires spread. Texas is a very different place when it comes to wildfires too. From my understanding if itโ€™s on private property the fire department wonโ€™t touch it.

Glad you're safe and this missed you @Lunch Box ๐Ÿฅฉ๐Ÿ” !

I had some family in Stillwater, OK lose their home to the fires there this week.

No sir, most all property in Texas is privately owned. We don't have any public land. Yes, fire fighters will fight fires on private property here. Thank you for your concern, appreciated much.

Glad your fire was only 20 acres. The one near us was just under 9000 acres. 3 miles from the house. 40% contained as of this morning.

We had a bit more than 20 acres, but nothing close to 9000 acres. The unpredictability of these fires is scary, and can escalate rapidly. Hope all is good.

We have property east of Fredericksburg, so we've been keeping a real close eye on the "Crabapple" fire. Looks like they have it 40% contained now.

Idiot burning trash yesterday in 40mph winds started it.

If it's not improperly maintained power lines or a lightning strike, it's one of the Rs...

Glad you had no negative impact from this and it didn't reach you!!

Omg Iโ€™m so glad you all are safe
We had the smoke from the fires near Fredericksburg here along with the high winds kicking up the dust. And I washed my truck three days before. Sending prayers to all
