I’ve actually never been to either of them, lol. They renovated Wandering Griffin after Quaker Steak and Lube closed back in 2016 and looks like they made a lot of improvements. Rip Rap Roadhouse has changed names several times and has always been more of a biker bar. I’ve been looking into both of these all morning and I don’t think we could go wrong with either. A few things I’ve noticed:

Both have great parking and either one would work well to get some good shots with the trucks lined up.

Both appear to have good seating and likely could accommodate 20+ people. Wondering Griffin looks more open and easier to seat of the two.

Wandering Griffin is a brewery so they are going to have more unique drink options.

Rip Rap Roadhouse is known for their food and looks to have a better menu but it doesn’t look like wondering Griffin has bad food either.

The only downside I see to Wondering Griffin is depending on the drone you have you may not be able to get it in the air with WPAFB being right across the street.

Rip Rap Roadhouse is possibly more centrally located being closer to I70/I75 but Wandering Griffin is only about 20 min further if you’re coming from I75/North. Wandering Griffin is closer if you are coming from Columbus/east and about the same if you are coming from the south.

I’d say either location would work. I’d say the location of each and possible drone no fly might be the determining factor? Let me know everyone’s thoughts

Having been to neither I am favoring Wandering Griffin but the drone comment is legit...especially these days. Maybe we are best to hit RRR, or we could make it pub crawl and hit both!
 
Thank you! I will lookup the authorization zone and see where Wandering Griffin lies within WPAFB’s radius.
