I’m down in a southern state but have any of you guys ever heard of or used Schaefer’s? I’ve heard a lot of diesel tech’s talk highly of it.

Yes it’s very good oil. They typically run more Molly additives than others. Look them up on bob is the oil guy. I know a few people that run their oil and are very pleased.I’m down in a southern state but have any of you guys ever heard of or used Schaefer’s? Am I wrong in thinking that Triaxx is not on fords "approved" list? as well when I looked last at the Triaxx page the 5 gallon buckets were out of stock. a lot was out of stock actuallyI use Triax FS 5w40 as well and like it. I've not run it near long enough to recommend it but so far, my rig has done really well with it.
I don’t see it in the list either, list could be old the spec is on the jugAm I wrong in thinking that Triaxx is not on fords "approved" list? as well when I looked last at the Triaxx page the 5 gallon buckets were out of stock. a lot was out of stock actually
You are correct, it isn't on Ford's approved list at all, neither is Amsoil for that matter. However, both oils, from what the data sheets report, certainly conform to or exceed the specification. At the end of the day, I suppose there is a little bit of a risk but nothing that worries me. From the OA's that I am seeing from those that have used it longer than I, have all been very good and I don't do long OCI's. I change my oil every 5000 to 7500 depending on use.Am I wrong in thinking that Triaxx is not on fords "approved" list? as well when I looked last at the Triaxx page the 5 gallon buckets were out of stock. a lot was out of stock actually
Did they give a recommendation for mileage interval ?My first report is in!
I'll be running the full oil life this time (following the dash indicator).

They would have if I hadn't told them that I want to keep my warranty intact.Did they give a recommendation for mileage interval ?
Rotella T6 with Motorcraft filter. I run it for 7500 miles, 1 year, or until the dash tells me to do so. Fuel filters every other oil change. Hit the grease zerks on my Carli Sway Bar End Links every oil change.
Well damn, learn something new every day. I did not know there were any serviceable OEM zerks on the truck. Thanks for calling those out for us. Added to my list.Don't forget your axle joint zerks too. This is what I do as well, but I have never made a 1 year interval, usually due every 6-7 weeks.
I'd pretty much guarantee they're still there on the 2022. All of the axles, suspension, drivetrain stuff is the same from 2017-2022. And there's quite a bit in common on all 2011+ trucks as well.I should add that my 2017 and 2021 both had zerks on the front axle joints. I haven't been under my 2022 yet to know for sure but I assume they still have them.
7500 or 1 Year I wish. I have had my SD for a bit over a year. I hit 25K while in Vegas last week.Rotella T6 with Motorcraft filter. I used to be a road warrior, but now I'm fortunate to not log nearly as many miles as I used to.7500 or 1 Year I wish. I have had my SD for a bit over a year. I hit 25K while in Vegas last week.
