Bumper repair/replacement

Well crap, my BIL is a bad influence on me, and convinced me to buy once cry once here 😂. He said he would help me install so that alleviates some of my concerns.

Now deciding between Fab Four Matrix without pre-runner/guard, or Matrix with pre-runner.

I sent Fab Four a few questions, would like to confirm the flood/fog lamps in bumper use factory harness do they are controlled by the truck like today.

Would like to save some money for now and not do the 30in light bar, but if it requires me to pull the bumper back off down the road, then I’ll do it now
I vote for the pre-runner style.

Looks like their Texas facility is 45min from my lease
Shoot me a message.

I can help you custom order your Buckstop & accessories.

I also have access to Chandler truck accessories if you would prefer to go that route.

I thought the bumper was expensive, but as I add all the rigid lights, the bumper price is starting to not look so bad given all that steel 😂 vs what my wife perceives as, just lights 🫣

Probably will be January before I get to this with Christmas around the corner, until then I have adaptive cruise and pre-collision disabled.

Started the oem bumper swap today. So far biggest PITA were the tabs holding on the black rubber gasket that sits on top of the bumper, ended up ripping off the top of the tabs.

Grey plastic trees with zips holding on the wiring harness are brittle and most broke. The longest part of this job so far is swapping all the parts over…

Hope to be done with it this evening

Anyone know what purpose those internal tooth thin washers provide on the front 8 bumper bolts? Mine are trashed after removing the bolts

they hold the bolts in place for assembly.

That’s what I figured, looking at them, I couldn’t see they actually offered anything outside of that but wanted to make sure I didn’t need any locking washers to secure things back

Why did you block out the license plate in the pic? It's visible everywhere you drive.

All done, finally installed the Noco plug as well that’s been sitting in my garage for a year

Great job, brother! Turned out really well. No more angry face when you look at it. Hope you get the sensors aligned and starghtened out.

Now don't run into any more poles...🤪.

Not that it was unexpected but you can tell in certain lights/angles that the color is slightly off from the rest of the truck. Star white on the bumper feels like it has less cream undertone compared to the truck. It’s still better than a wrecked bumper lol

Congrats on the fine repair. Glad to see you slapped-N-screwed that NOCO plug in there, right where Our Man OTC put his. I gotta do mine cause I have the charger to install -and- I wanna start using my engine block heater.

Looking goood! Winthorp. :ROFLMAO: 🏁

It's probably because he's seen my truck 1000 times! :ROFLMAO:

Good job @thatdood !

I like the way you mounted the charger, too.

Christmas party today or I’d be starting my install!
