Beans in Chili

BTW, I am a direct descendent of one of the brave souls who fell at the Alamo and I was born on San Jacinto Day as well so it goes without saying that I take my Texas heritage seriously.
I get the heritage comment. My ancestors were one of the original "Old 300" that came to Texas with Stephen F. Austin. Elemelech is my multi-great grandfather. I've never really known family very well, but I found this sign, of all places, when I was picking up a puppy 2 1/2 hours away from Austin and did some research. My brother knew of him, but never shared. Okay, maybe that was too much, sorry for the TMI

Regards,
Stephen Swearingen

Ladies and Gentlemen!

ChatGPT has spoken.

Real” chili, especially the traditional Texas style known as chili con carne, does not include beans. This is because historically, Texas chili was made for cowboys who preferred a meat-focused dish without beans, which were considered a filler and not part of authentic chili. Official Texas chili competitions even disqualify chili with beans.

However, outside of Texas, many people add beans to chili, and it is widely accepted as a "variation" of the dish. Commercially prepared chili often includes beans, and many enjoy chili with various types of beans like kidney, pinto, or black beans.

In summary, traditional Texas chili has no beans, but chili with beans is common and enjoyed elsewhere. It depends on regional and personal preferences"

Here is how it works, Chili in a bowl to be eaten by itself has beans onions and bell peppers and brown sugar... Period, Chili for spaghetti red or hot dogs NO beans its not rocket science

It's difficult to even take this seriously. I can only assume that I'm being trolled due to the fact this nonsense is coming from a resident of a state that thinks Tex Mex is actual food and not something you would feed the dog when you couldn't find any kibble for the poor fella.

It's the same as before, chili no beans has to specify that or call itself Texas style because it's common knowledge that chili on the reg has beans.

This subject is the Alamo and you my friend have already lost it.
Yall can’t even win your independence from a bunch of blue haired freaks that use a litter box for the bathroom 🤣 You’re not even fit to mention the Alamo much less speak negatively on the subject 😂

Texans are dead wrong on square-toe boots, but we can fight about that later - I'm with you all on this one. The bean crowd is packing rubber...uh..."batons" in this battle.

Is this how WWIII begins?

I don't post much but I do come from the Chili Capital of the world, NM!!! Haven't any of you heard of Chili beans, beans and chili, heck, even Frito pies. It's not soup, it's not a pie. I've had Chili hundreds of different ways, with and without beans. I prefer no beans, but I've had some bad ass Chili beans also. It's all preference, I grow my own Chili and tie my own ristras. You can get some 3X from Hatch or some extra Hot Red from just about anywhere here, real Chili... Hormel, Wolf brand and any other chili from a can is NOT Chili!!! Hopefully some of the NM guys in this forum will chime in and help set it straight.

Well there you have it. Thanks ChatGPT

No Beans. It's Chili

With Beans. It's Stew.

This is consistent with what @Godzilla/Tremornator has been telling us all along.
how you think chatFPT knew???
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

also

chili beans are beans that have been cooked in chili. they are not special beans for chili.

enjoy your stew but it's "STEW"
🤷🏻‍♂️
I'll have chili!!!!!!

😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

Chili is cooked separate, beans are cooked separate then you can add them or not. Anything with Chili is not stew, its still Chili.

oh yea

by the way

the alamo was just the start

we all know where that lead

the great country of Texas!!!!!!

which joined the United States of America to help create the greatest country on the planet!!!!!!

no beans about it

if there's beans it's beans
if there's beans & meat it's stew
nothing wrong with beans
nothing wrong with a good stew
it just ain't chili!!!!!!!!
🤷🏻‍♂️
ain't that hard to understand
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

Washington st or DC ain't fit for livin either.

3 kinds of beans???

I'll take chili & add bacon sausage chicken shrimp okra squash onion garlic green beans carrots zucchini tomato potato corn

may have chili in it but it ain't chili!!!!!
🤣😂🤣🤣😂🤣

don't know what to call it but it ain't chili

kitchen sink soup
porridge
goulash

but it ain't chili just because it has chili in it.

chili stands alone
add to it, it's not chili anymore

like meatloaf

you take pan seared ground beef add all the meatloaf stuff. its not seared ground beef anymore its "MEATLOAF"

just like you take pizza dough (flatbread) add all the pizza stuff. it ain't flatbread anymore its "PIZZA"

can't beleive the trouble I'm going through to try to help you people keep from embarrassing yourselves out in public
😅🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
