Baja Lights in Side Step - New Mount

Just yesterday I was sitting on my stool in the barn with the truck in front of me and the S2s in hand and said "if only there was a way to space these out a bit". Order placed.

Very close on the final design. Had to cut the backside of the 45at a compound angle because it interfered with the back angle.

Next will be the rear step lights! Thanks again @Toxophilite and @OmahaBravo for all you help!

Is this mount facing forward or backward?
Or can it be used for either position?

Are you asking how it is secured? There is a backplate that the bolts go through.

It is possible in some of the locations to have a recessed light, the main problem is clearance behind the step. The rear step pocket has very little space. The side step has more. The way this joint is set up there is still quite a bit of room for a foot to grab hold.

The 45° are facing forward, if someone wanted one facing back I can work on that but it’s going to require a different mount.

I’ve made adjustments to the mount and backer plate for the S1-45° mount and it’s ready for production. I’ll be sending it out to the person who helped me develop. Next is to develop a jig for mounting to ensure the cutting and drilling of the holes is in the right place.
Also happy to report I got the initial bumper step mount done, just a couple changes to get it where I want it. It’s too close to the edge and would slightly hang over the outside. I also believe the S1 is angled too much outward. This one was a lot harder as the step pocket isn’t a simple curve or even two curves, it has multiple flat spots, and radii as well as curving from top to bottom.


As always, I’d appreciate any feedback or other ideas.

For my mounts, my Etsy shop has the side steps. I’ll probably be posting the Side step ditch mount, and the bumper mount tonight or tomorrow.

I got the first version done, working on some refinements. need a little bit bigger slots to be able to support having a thicker marking device... Also working on a way to use one template card to be held in place by a jig for each location.

I’m hoping to get the rear step and side step ditch lights (not sure what else to call them) done and posted before the end of the weekend for everyone asking. It’s been a long and busy week for me. I just shifted from nights back to days, and there’s a lot going on with the wife and kids.
