Actual Ford Tremor Payload

2020 F350 Platinum 6.7L, 11,500 GVWR Package, Power Moon Roof Twin Panel, Payload per door sticker 3383 lbs.

Ivydirt posted early in this thread that his 20 F350 Platinum has 3306 payload. Mine is same year and model and is 3383 payload with a sunroof. Assuming he doesn't have one it a 77 lbs difference. Check with him.

I would not have guessed that the sunroof increased payload.

Finally get to add another listed payload for a F-350, 7.3L, Lariat value, sport, with 5Th prep, and the bench seat options.

Took it to a DOT scale with myself (250 Lbs) , a 2 year old (60 Lbs with seat) , 3/4 tank of gas, and a Truxedo Century CT tonneau (70Lbs) only tipped the scale at 7580 lbs. By my math 3826 payload is conservative even assuming down 75LBS in fuel, if the scale is correct I come up with about 4025 payload using the bare truck weight and 11300 GVWC.

It doesn't increase payload. Tremores question was posted in 2 threads. It reduces payload by 99 lbs according to the spec sheet.

Correct, I misspoke that it would increase payload. I don't know if the truck I referenced "Ivydirt" has a sunroof. Other then possibly the power running boards which come on the Platinum my truck should be very similar to Ivydirt's. I think the most accurate way to determine the accurate payload is to do like TexanTremor did and get it on the scales and then deduct from the GVWR rating. Mines has 11,500 GVWR.

Hah! I wish I had taken it across the scales. I'm still trying to decide if I can make a tremor work, or need to go DRW. 2020Tremor was the owner who scaled his. I want to order a 350 lariat 7.3, but we want to get an 18k gvwr toyhauler. My head says get the DRW, but the Tremor is the truck I want.

tremor f350 can do 22k lbs gooseneck you should be fine if you ask me but DRW will always make it a smoother towing experience

If you assume 20% pin weight at 18K and don’t have a lot of passenger/ in cab weight wold be super close to GVWC on mine and be within rear axle capacity of 6950 by 10 lbs assuming all 3600 pin weight on rear axle.

Do you have access to the trailer you are looking at to get a actual pin weight? I get wanting a Tremor but would be terrible to find it doesn’t fit the application.

I had a similar debate, but wanted to stay with SRW if possible. I wanted to make a Tremor work to carry slide-in camper, but it doesn't for the camper I want. I want at least 4300 lbs payload available. Decided to order a non-Tremor F-350 Platinum SRW 7.3L LB 4.30 axle ratio FX4 with a moonroof. Ordered with 11,900 GVWR it has Max Payload possible (without options) of 4,730 lbs. I have a clause in the deal if it doesn't have at least 4500 lbs I have the option to walk away.

Thank you for that! So you're adding the two numbers within parenthesis? Do you think the two numbers reflect weight to each axle?

Yes, that's my understanding. Front and back axle adjustments.

Regarding the fifth wheel:
I'm considering the KZ 3815TK. The dry weight is only 13.5k with a 2700 pin. Of course stuff in the garage will reduce the pin. I would guess we would have around 1500lb in the garage and maybe 500-1000 forward of that. The trailer is 18k gvwr, so about 4500 cargo cap. Few people in the cab is not an option for us, I'm getting the 6 seater because we have 5 kids. I've been back and forth whether it's doable.

My F250 6.7 Lariat ultimate with the HCTP/BKUP Assist weighed 8600 LBS with me, wife, dog, Full Fuel, all my crap, tonneau, 2 spares, and a half full toolbox. I have a 10800 GVWR. Actual cargo capacity left is 10800-8600=2200LBS. That is enough for an 11k LBS (GVWR) fifth wheel if you consider pin weight 20%. It is also enough for ANY Travel Trailer I have spec'd out. My sticker says 2730, so it"s pretty close. I advise anyone towing a Fifth wheel Toy hauler to go with an F350 even though it is probably the EXACT same truck. If its a real monster you probably have to go DRW. I myself probably will not tow anything greater than a 10,000 GVWR TT or 5er. If I do go with a fifth wheel it likely will be a larger "half ton towable" one.

You will be close, I did look at a XLT Tremor 7.3L a while back that had just over 4K stickered payload but didn’t have the 5er prep in it. Also to be conservative you will need to add another 100lbs for the hitch. If you are a light family might be able to squeak by if you have the option to shift weight in the trailer to keep the pin weight down. Also would have to keep any cargo in the trailer not the truck. That is a tough decision but DRW may be a better option as the kids grow and eat up more payload.
