📍 Meet-Up General Inquiry - Tremor in the Ozarks

Looking at putting together a meet-up around the Cass/Oark/Ozone area of the Ozark NF. There's quite a few folks within a reasonable drive so to better map this out I'd like to get a feel for the number that might show.

Currently eyeballing June 2026 but this is flexible. For those that have never been to the Ozarks, its beautiful so this is going to be a multi-day trip. The 50k ft plan as of now is to explore the Ozarks for 2 full days with enough downtime to get situated at camp, check out peoples rigs and enjoy a beverage around a campfire.

Unless the entire group unanimously agrees...

• the routes chosen will be free of pinstriping and body damage
• Camping will be at improved public campgrounds that have at least composting toilet facilities

Let me know if i missed anything.

I'd be in. Coming from Warsaw MO. I would have to figure out the camping thing. We have no camping stuff. Maybe rent a small TT for a base camp.

Side note, I know I’m a Yankee but what’s the weather like down there in June? I picture cows flying by the campsite and tornados everywhere….

That said it might be a fun trip if we can make the timing work!!

Oark, Arkansas is a good place to look up for reference (below screenshot has Oark pinned). Just northwest-ish of Clarksville (on I-40). If its possible, I'd like to grab lunch at the Oark General store on one of the days. They make a pretty good burger and shake and is somewhat of a must when doing the OOAT. They also have fuel (gas only).

June was more of a guesstimate. Honestly, it might be better to do it later in the year (Sept/Oct/Nov) so those of us that wont have a/c ...wont wish we had a/c.
Severe weather is certainly a concern but meeting up outside of the mid-to late-spring should help mitigate the majority of risk. Besides, having grown up in the plains and seen the destruction even a small tornado can cause, i would not want to be in a debris-rich environment like the Ozarks when one blows through.

I'd absolutely consider this - with time for fishing for sure. Later in the year might be better for me, but I'll vote yes for now. This would be awesome

@OmahaBravo is coming down to AZ; it'd only be right I come to him now.

It's been many years since I went to the midwest (I was a kid then) and it sure would be nice to be back and play in it this time.

It's also a halfway point, perfect for those like you tucked in the upper eastern coast to get a chance to play with us folks from the south-west region -- a perfect meet up point and some great off-roading (so I hear).

10ft ish…. I’d have to get an official measurement but give or take a few inches. Don’t plan your route around me though .

Worst case if I can’t fit I’ll pop up the camper and take a nap lol.

i dont think height will be an issue, honestly. Probably didnt need to ask but... curiosity and all.
