Cat doesn't do road diesels any more. The MX-13 is a Paccar engine built for Kenworth/Peterbilt who are owned by Paccar. Anything large enough for an MX-13 will be a lot more than $80k, but still reasonable compared to a pickup. My preference is the ISX rather than the MX and, out T880s (Class 8 Kenworth) go for around $175k depending on options. Ours are spec'd with basic interiors, 48" sleepers, f/r/center lockers, and the 18 speed Ultrashift (Eaton-RoadRanger.) I try to avoid the Paccar branded parts and stick with the name brands on the major components. Lots of Petes (same company) similar priced, I just like the look of the KW. (It's like a GMC/Chevy thing.)
When I said basic truck for 80k, that was a day cab with basically zero options.

My new sound sytem. It will be standard in the new 2222 Tremor

I looked at doing some T-370s single axle to replace our F-550/Ram 5500s but by the time you add 4WD and the sleepers they are over $150k. $180k to do a crew cab conversion. I think they were 8.3l Cummins and 6 speed Allison’s but I would have to check. Definitely weren’t 13l. They always push the MX13 on the T880s as they are the same hp and have the same after treatment as the ISX but I’ll take the extra displacement and well proven platform, plus the majority of the units we have are ISX or the older 15l Cummins.

In my case, when ordering my 26 SO, I did not want to spend the extra money (I think it was $2500 or so) for something that I did not need. 1050 ft lbs is more than sufficient.
Sufficient is never sufficient
