I remember the day I took the worst beating of my life. I don't remember what I did. What I do remember is I got caught, went and got the switch (branch off of our plum tree), and handed it to my mom. She turned and walked away. The rest of that day after my dad got home is just fog in my brain.
My mom never even raised her voice at me after that. She didn't have to.
Hahaha! I just remember quickly learning that picking a skinny branch was the opposite of what you want. Also, don’t duck, dip, dive, or dodge. Take it and gauge reward/loss moving forward.
No amount of pain equaled the pain my dad’s look of disappointment gave though. Not even close.
My grandmother would evaluate the branch chosen and if it wasn't acceptable, she was going for the super skinny ones. So you had to be strategic to get the thickest one you could get away with while not going too far and then getting the thinnest one she could find.
I was at Home Depot yesterday and in several aisles caught the lingering olfactory signature of Drakkar Noir. Someone still wearing that from 1986?? I think diesel may be a better scent.
Drakkar Noir was a solid choice for me back in 1982. Good times!I was at Home Depot yesterday and in several aisles caught the lingering olfactory signature of Drakkar Noir. Someone still wearing that from 1986?? I think diesel may be a better scent.![]()

After Brut and before Axe, it was BOD...it came with a trigger sprayer like a damn bottle of Windex.
I know we have at least a few millennials on here that know what's up. The commercials were some of the gayest I've ever seen
