2024 MY Super Duty Order/Schedule/Build Thread

The Jealousy over executive pay is so tired at this point. YES it's a problem. No it has nothing whatsoever to do with this strike. It's a petty distraction. I wish companies had more parity between their executives and their workers but even if you paid all the executives nothing it wouldn't move the needle one bit for the workers. Ignoring facts seems to be a disease in this country. The UAW memo he referenced was leaked a while ago and it should be taken seriously. Distracting from it with "yeah but the CEO makes too much" isn't helpful. Real people are suffering because of this and if you think 100k a year, free healthcare and million dollar retirement as an uneducated factory worker isn't sufficient then the inflation you saw last year is only the beginning.
Some of the smartest people I’ve known didn’t have a truly formal education. This argument that they’re uneducated and unskilled is tired. 100k isn’t what it used to be and a million over 30 years? In 30 years a million won’t get you very far. I’m in healthcare out in California and people with 2 year degrees (technically 3 or 4 with prerequisites) are retiring with 4M after 21 years of service. Different perspective I guess. I still think that this slightly panicked talk of - “let them vote!” - comes from a place of selfish thoughts; wanting their truck built and I get it. I would like this to end as well, but at this point I know I’ll be lucky to have my order by summer. Guaranteed, as soon as this is over and trucks are being produced and delivered - all this talk will disappear and people will move on like nothing ever happened.

Meh, I’d agree with you except that GM just coughed up more after they said they couldn’t. Fain’s strategy is painful lost definitely. No one WANTS to strike. It sucks. This video is one sided. Not once did this guy talk about inflation, cost of living or the sacrifices the workers made during the days of the big bailout. We are living in some crazy uncertain times where we are susceptible to being influenced by rhetoric and hype. Fain is unwavering in this arena and will see it through - as he was elected to do. The majority of the workers are still on board according to more non-bias balanced reports.
Your cluttering up the build thread. Go whine about this somewhere else.

Being uneducated doens't make em dumb. Mad respect for the workers. My point is that the job doesn't require much in the way of education. Jobs pay based on supply and demand of workers. The supply of people able to work a production line is high because it doesn't take much skill. and no education and anyone can do it Typically you develop your skills to get a better paying job. Your in healthcare and you had to pay for schooling and put in the time and effort to get to that point and you will reap the rewards of that effort. If we based it on hard work then the janitors would be mopping up...pun intended. Unskilled and uneducated workers demanding pay not supported my the free market isn't a tired argument it's an economical one and one you can't violate without cause imbalances that result in inflation which feeds a vicious cycle.

Have a cup of coffee and chill out Tank. I honestly DGAF. Just having a conversation. Nothing’s being built so this is what we’re talking about. I didn’t post the video - I only responded to it.

That’s a fair take.

Exactly!

Ford Motor and the negotiators of the United Auto Workers (UAW) union have reached a tentative labor deal, three sources familiar with the matter said on Wednesday, a 4-1/2-year contract that would provide a record pay boost.......Now can we get some darn trucks built!

Looks like I might not have my 23 very long. Lol

Worth watching. Workers going back while the process moves forward.
Thank you @Arius1 for catching that the workers are going back to work tomorrow !!!

I skimmed through that section of the video and missed it.

This is HUGE for all of us waiting for our trucks.

Also those waiting for luxury trims being built in the spring, you will only be delayed 1 week, Since they will now not close the plants on 12/11/23 as they were going to have to due to the beefier 10 speeds not being previously available. Plenty of those transmission were built to the point that there were layoffs.
The fall builds will be two week delay.

I do wonder just how long this will have set things back. Months maybe? I never received a build date anyway and ordered in September - Platinum. I already was thinking spring

Just curious how you know this. Is this "for sure"?

Well that’s good news for all involved!

The early December constraints on the 10R140 transmissions, the 7.3 V8 and 6.7 diesels have been solved since the Sharonville transmission plant remained open as did the Mexico 6.7 and Canadian 7.3 plants.

I’m sure there was catching up on Luxury trims components too.
