2024 MY Super Duty Order/Schedule/Build Thread

That's a pretty good estimate. My 24 is scheduled for 11/27(unlikely to stay there), I'm not expecting to see it until spring now. I'm picking up my 23 order and trading it when the 24 comes in.
Good move. You are lucky that your '23 got built and you can get it even without MCS. I have not been so lucky as to have either my '23 or '24 scheduled. I hope I am wrong, but I do not expect KTP to open again until after the new year. At this point I am wondering when the order banks will open for MY25 Super Dutys.

How much do you think you will lose with trading?
I'm getting it at invoice so I'm assuming I'd only lose a couple grand, I hope. Lol the wife doesn't want to wait until the 24 comes in (unknown timeframe) to pick up the camper. Plus, I was hoping to have my truck for my deer hunting trip in November. So this was actually her pushing for it but I'm benefiting from it. Ha. Otherwise, I can always try to sell it depending on what the trade offer is.

That is actually my guess as well. With the plant closing anyway for a couple weeks around Thanksgiving and another couple around Christmas... New year is definitely not out of the equation.

I hate that game - trying to sell privately at this level of vehicle, but I’d want my truck as well.

Not looking forward to it but I'll cross that bridge when I need to.

Plus I'm hoping to keep the miles down on it and that might help with the trade. Plus inventory levels might be in my benefit.

*Edit - can I say plus any more?!

He might loose very little or even gain. Inventories will be very low if/when he gets the MY24 truck.
I agree you may make money on it, inventories have been and continue to be tight, valuation is trending up again. New production has been slow in 2023 MY and 2024 MY

Brilliant strategy to make getting the '23 her idea... That's why I don't mind my wife calling the truck 'her new truck' even though she will never drive it. :)

Yup! I've been in the game long enough to know the strategies!

You may be onto something here. If the big three give in now their workers who come back get paid for holiday/vacation time and no more trucks get built during those times anyway. Best to hold off, save costs and bring everyone back post vacation/holiday.

I honestly would not be the least bit surprised if this is what they did. The economy and all the jobs depending on the factories being opened, would be absolutely decimated.
I'd bet though they'll be a deal in the next couple weeks. The problem, though, is they've been out so long now that the parts supply chain will need quite a few weeks to actually get back up to speed. In turn, that means they won't be building trucks at full speed.

For those of us who need to use the purchase for end of year tax purposes. At what point do we give up on the My2024 order that was originally supposed to be built 10/9/2023 and try to find a 2023 on the lot that’s close enough?

My problem is the stock order 2023’s just aren’t optioned like I need it. So I would have to take the 2024 when it comes in and trade the low mileage 2023.
Has anyone done that? What is the hit financially? My state charges sales 4.15 percent tax on car purchases. So you’re taking a $4K hit just with that.

I'm doing exactly this when my 24 is built. In WI, I get a discount essentially on the 24 sales tax. I only pay taxes on the difference, 24 - trade. So I'll have to pay like half the taxes.

Unfortunately for me, Virginia does not allow deduction for trade in. Only rebates and dealer incentives.
Hopefully the union decides to get their $500 a week starving workers out of the freezing cold in time for deliveries before the New Years. Just doesn’t seem fair to me that workers at some plants have to bear the financial strike burden for workers still on the job and earning wages at other plants. All union workers including union management should share the strike burden equally.

Ford is sending this YouTube link to dealers about the strike. Obviously every issue has several sides to the story. But this view is one that Ford wants the dealer network to share.

Yup this is deeper than just getting a good contract! If this lasts into the new year the auto industry will never recover!

This is more sensationalism. Where does he talk about the CEO of GM making $31M? Oh, he doesn’t. The guy even says, “I’m assuming …” - meaning, he doesn’t actually know. This guy is over the top. I still don’t get why people think that the people who lead should make what the people who follow make. Makes no sense.

No one is saying that workers don’t deserve a raise or that the CEOs make too much for what they do!! What the point is a damn good offer is on the table that a vote is not being allowed to happen! Now this strike is affecting people who aren’t union members!! Enough is enough let em vote!

Meh, I’d agree with you except that GM just coughed up more after they said they couldn’t. Fain’s strategy is painful lost definitely. No one WANTS to strike. It sucks. This video is one sided. Not once did this guy talk about inflation, cost of living or the sacrifices the workers made during the days of the big bailout. We are living in some crazy uncertain times where we are susceptible to being influenced by rhetoric and hype. Fain is unwavering in this arena and will see it through - as he was elected to do. The majority of the workers are still on board according to more non-bias balanced reports.

The Jealousy over executive pay is so tired at this point. YES it's a problem. No it has nothing whatsoever to do with this strike. It's a petty distraction. I wish companies had more parity between their executives and their workers but even if you paid all the executives nothing it wouldn't move the needle one bit for the workers. Ignoring facts seems to be a disease in this country. The UAW memo he referenced was leaked a while ago and it should be taken seriously. Distracting from it with "yeah but the CEO makes too much" isn't helpful. Real people are suffering because of this and if you think 100k a year, free healthcare and million dollar retirement as an uneducated factory worker isn't sufficient then the inflation you saw last year is only the beginning.
