2024 MY Super Duty Order/Schedule/Build Thread

Believe me, I’m trying not to talk out of both sides of my mouth. I’m so back and forth - I could “settle” for a nicely equipped ’23 Lariat right now, but I don’t want a pano roof and I want the factory tuff bed, etc. I’d eventually regret not waiting for the Platinum I optioned out exactly how I wanted it - and like you, financially I’ll be way better off waiting it out and saving up.
The pano roof isn’t bad, I’ve had no leaks or issues with mine, and a nice day with all the windows open and the pano is awesome!! As for the factory liner, both my trucks have had them. I think my next one I’ll opt to skip it and get linex to do it. One big reason is the UV stabilizer, the factory liner will fade quick if not covered.

I'm having my bed done at local linex dealer and Tonneau cover put in as well. My sales person recommended doing linex instead of factory.

Make sure you get their UV stabilizer or whatever they call it!

Well, this is interesting to hear from you guys. I’m headed down the coast a bit to flirt with the black onyx Lariat Tremor I’ve mentioned. I just like that Ford stamp you get with factory, but that’s interesting to hear about the fading aspect. I do recall mine was fading in my ‘20 Lariat Tremor. I have asked a few guys that have made vids on YouTube of legit off roading with their Tremor that have the pano roof and long term - never had a problem with leaking or rattling even; and I won’t be off-roading more than once every couple of months if im lucky. Meh, we’ll see. If they gave me the dealer discounts they’ve got going on at some of the dealers in Texas it might be difficult to not move forward, but I’m not desperate. I’m just smitten and emotionally reacting to the strike and subsequent unknown impending wait.

Hope you strike a good deal man!

So, that was fun. It was an awkward meeting. The truck was beautiful of course. My wife approved, but still under recall without a solution in sight. Same with a truck in Texas I called on today before making the trip to the dealership I’m going through for the Platinum order. So, I think it’s simply a waiting game now for me. If the strike resolves soon-ish and I get a build date; I’ll maybe wait for the platinum. If they get the recall work done on the truck in Texas, I’ll probably figure out how to make that work. It’s star white metallic; which is what my ‘20 Tremor was. It’s got the roof lights as well, but has the pano; which I don’t feel as opposed to after y’all’s comment earlier.
The recall - basically you could be at speed and your entire dash loses power. The guy in Texas said they had a similar recall on the broncos and it took 6 months to get a fix. Yikes.

Order date 9/30 email last night that build date is 11/13. Too fast! I was planning financially to take deliver 8 months later. Might have to pass on this one if it comes this quick and place a new order.
Things just got interesting. Tried checking status yesterday and the link from the email would just hang. This morning when i checked it responds with an error

“We're sorry. We are unable to process this Order. Please enter a valid Ford Order/VIN.”

Same vin i have used for weeks.

Very typical for Sundays. Check tomorrow and it will work

My status updated from week of 10/23 to 10/30 which is great. If it delays one more week it would be perfect timing for me.

We should be fairly good if there’s only one week of KTP shutdown. Here’s why.
They were looking into having to shut KTP on 12/11/2023 due to engine and transmission shortages. So one week now gives the transmission and engine a week to catch up allowing the plant to remain open the week of 12/11. So by January everything would be the same. Of course those with fall schedule dates will fall behind a week.
With a two week shutdown, things begin to slip long term.

Interestingly, with the strike, the UAW strike fund pays for the idle engine/transmission catch up week. Without a strike, Ford would have had to pay employees for the idle 12/11/2023 catch up week.

We cannot dismiss the layoffs ford has made at various facilities that may have impacts on supplies as well. Ford, like many other companies do not want to create excess inventory as it ruins the balance sheets.

According to the "experts", they think a deal will be made this week with Ford, but they need to add the battery plants into the deal somehow. We shall see if that's the case. It would be best case scenario for all parties.

For me, the order status site has always been fickle. Some days it works; some days it just sits and spins after clicking "Accept and Track". But would usually give my info after a few tries over a couple hour period. As mentioned, I ordered in July and on Sep. 07, it was scheduled to be built the week of 10/09. On 10/08, they changed scheduled build week to 10/30. That was a few days BEFORE the Kentucky plant closed. I checked once since then but it hadn't changed. Since others said theirs changed after the closing, I just went to check mine now.
I got the same error message as you: “We're sorry. We are unable to process this Order. Please enter a valid Ford Order/VIN.”
Since Sep. 07 when my status first changed to having a scheduled build week, I've never seen that before.

I just tried it as well and got the same message. I had a build date of 10/23 that was changed to 10/30 a couple of days ago. Now this message so who knows!

I'm hopeful anyone already scheduled wouldn't be delayed too much since Ford has the parts, or expected to have the parts by the build date.... constrained parts are usually updated weekly, so as long as this strike doesn't last more than a week or two it shouldn't have a lasting effect.

I was getting the same message yesterday. I am able to get in today. Nothing changed. My build date is still 11/6.

I had the pano roof in my 2017 and it didn't have any issues and I have the pano in my 2023 as well and so far no problems. Now my sister in law has a 2022 Expedition and hers exploded driving down the road. Ford didn't cover it, they said they couldn't prove it wasn't caused by a rock or impact of some sort, never mind she was the only one on the road. To top it all off, she had her kids in the car with her at the time and it was raining. The icing on the cake is that the dealer wasn't even capable of doing the replacement themselves, they had to outsource it to a glass shop an hour away.

I had a 2012 F250 with the older, smaller sun roof and it broke when it jumped the track as I opened it leaving the dealer no less, that one was covered under warranty. Needless to say, I am not a huge fan of the sunroofs and I only end up using them when it's overcast or rainy and I don't care for glaring sunlight or the Texas summer heat cooking me from above. And when I do use it I only open the shade, almost never the glass itself. Had I not purchased a truck on the lot which was someone else's order, I wouldn't have opted for one myself on a custom ordered truck. Just some food for thought.

Same here. Was able to get in today but no change. I recall someone mentioning that Tuesdays are typically when schedules change.
