2024 MY Super Duty Order/Schedule/Build Thread

I had a 2012 F250 with the older, smaller sun roof and it broke when it jumped the track as I opened it leaving the dealer no less, that one was covered under warranty. Needless to say, I am not a huge fan of the sunroofs and I only end up using them when it's overcast or rainy and I don't care for glaring sunlight or the Texas summer heat cooking me from above. And when I do use it I only open the shade, almost never the glass itself. Had I not purchased a truck on the lot which was someone else's order, I wouldn't have opted for one myself on a custom ordered truck. Just some food for thought.

This is a big part of why I ordered. I really didn't want sunroof or cab lights. And it seems like every Platinum had a sunroof. That's exactly what I need... Leaky noisy glass over my head that just seems like a hail magnet.

I had the pano roof in my 2017 and it didn't have any issues and I have the pano in my 2023 as well and so far no problems. Now my sister in law has a 2022 Expedition and hers exploded driving down the road. Ford didn't cover it, they said they couldn't prove it wasn't caused by a rock or impact of some sort, never mind she was the only one on the road. To top it all off, she had her kids in the car with her at the time and it was raining. The icing on the cake is that the dealer wasn't even capable of doing the replacement themselves, they had to outsource it to a glass shop an hour away.

Yes - the 2 Tremors I was sort of considering have recalls that are going to take forever. They both have pano’s - I’m just going to end up waiting for my order.

Exactly. Although I do like me some cab lights. Saw someone somewhere call them hillbilly lights - I don’t even care. I’ve always thought they were cool. I definitely will take my chances with those over having a moonroof I never wanted.

I had heard that 23’s did not have the adaptive cruise on them but I have not seen anywhere that the 24’s won’t have the adaptive cruise’s on them ? Does anyone know anything for sure about that ?
I have yet to find anyone that has an lariat ultimate tremor with the 6.7 HO that has adaptive cruise control. I have a family member driving one, and it does not have adaptive cruise. I am like you, hoping that the 24 will have the adaptive cruise control the ultimate tremor package. Would be nice to hear from someone that has a lariat ultimate tremor that can say they have adaptive cruise control on their truck.

Yea, I agree, I just didn't want to wait. The other drawback here in Texas is that it acts as an oven in the summer heat lol.

See, I don't care for cab lights on a Ford, I don't like how they look. I like them on a RAM and I had them on both of my RAM's without issue but every Super Duty post 2010 I've owned with cab lights has leaked. I wouldn't own one with cab lights for that reason alone, but to each his own.

I have a '23 Lariat Ultimate with the HO and adaptive cruise!

I received the email from Ford saying that I was scheduled for week of 11/20 a few weeks ago, but their tracking website never has pulled my order up. I am assuming that it has been pushed back by a few weeks at least.

When your VIN is assigned does that mean Ford has the parts to build a vehicle somewhere, or that they just expect to have the parts? My concern is if the parts are not already there somewhere and some suppliers end up having to go out of business due to the strike, where does that leave people who have a VIN and date assigned, but now possibly without the parts needed for the build...

When you have the VIN they have the parts. I'm scheduled for 11/13 and that date hasn't moved yet but its to far out for them to push it.

You having the VIN means your parts are in. Not sure why your tracking info isn't working. I just checked and mine info hasn't changed.

Based on my knowledge, is when you're scheduled, Ford is saying they'll have enough parts to build that vehicle by that scheduled timeframe. So if you're scheduled and have a VIN, you should be fine. But I would expect delays with the strike.

Well that is good to know, but the Ford website sure as heck will not show my order though. I checked and re-checked to make sure I was putting the VIN in correctly to the point i have it memorized now. 😂😂

I just ordered a Platinum this morning. What is the general wait time looking like for Plat. Tremor these days?
Also what happened to the order tracking page. Now you need a VIN to check it? Dont the VIN not happen until its placed on the schedule?
Plus my damn PCO for $2k expired 2 weeks ago.

My 23 Lariat Ultimate Tremor 6.7 HO has adaptive cruise. Love it, takes the truck all the way to 0 with traffic and picks right back up. The lane keeping needs a little bit of work still, does ok

Ordered 9/26/23 on the 28th I was given a build week of 10/23. I would have been under a month from order to production without the strike.

What was your config? Plat? Tremor? HO 6.7? if you had those options you would be the first I think

Yessir. HO Platinum Tremor. Otherwise not much else. No sunroof. I have little options like supplemental heat.

SO all the folks in here w/ Platinum Tremor who ordered a '24 have no build dates as of yet?

There's actually quite a few Platinum Tremors that have build weeks. I'm one of them. Was originally scheduled bfor 10/9 then with the strike and shortages, I've been bumped to 11/20, as of now.

I wonder if they managed to squeak a couple trucks out before the strike

OK good. Gives me hope then.

Correct, some of us never had our 23 orders built. I ordered two 2023s one was never built. The other took over 11 months before the ADM game was played. My 24 order might take 6 months or more now. But its mostly on your dealer how they are managing their allocations as far I understand it.

There is a "fresh off the assembly line" picture of a SD with the new Glacier Gray paint floating around and since that is one of the two new colors for 2024, I assume there were at least a handful that made it off the line.
