Interesting numbers here. That year-to-date number was for 8 months of production, so they averaged 23647 trucks/mo. If it was a full year at that average that would be 283761 trucks in a full year. With the proven capacity of 33592 trucks/mo and assuming just 11 months to account for holidays and model year changeover, they could produce 369,512 trucks in a model year. If I pick a number half way between these, that gives 326637 trucks per model year. If there are only 26k trucks in the order banks, that is only a 4.14 week backlog.Ford Super Duty production at the Kentucky Truck plant finished the month of August at 33,592 units, which is 12,713 units or 61 percent more than the 20,879 trucks it built in July – marking its best month of production on the year thus far – bringing its year-to-date total up to 189,174 units.
If I do this by trim level, then I have a 23 week backlog for KR, a 22.5 week backlog for Platinum, a 23 week backlog for Limited. For HO engines I get a 23.5 week backlog.
From this it looks to me like everything in the current order bank could possibly be built in the first half of the model year.
