2024 MY Super Duty Order/Schedule/Build Thread

Funny, I have no email confirmations other than my order was placed (priority 16), but my salesman has called twice to update me that they have heard nothing…they are anything but transparent on process and wouldn’t even check with order lady (one person inputs data to Ford) to make sure my email address was correct…on side note saw Kentucky plant is not striking - is that good for us???

After the order confirmation you will receive two types of emails from Ford. One occurs exactly every 45 days with the current status. The other type of email is an actual schedule week email follows by schedule day email and other progress steps.
You can receive the blanket 45 day email and then a scheduling week email 2 days later as has recently occurred with me.

The Kentucky Super Duty plant is currently not on strike. But 2024 model year production won’t start until October 1. The UAW could decide to add Kentucky Plant to their strike list in the coming two weeks or later at any time. So it’s sort of good that it’s not currently on strike. But that could change any time adding a huge variable to when our trucks will be built.

Ask your sales guy to email you your buildsheet. It will likely come from the person who puts in the orders. If she has your correct email address to email you the buildsheet then a higher chance it's correct in the system. Plus, you can then respond to that message to ask her to confirm that the email is correct in the system. If that doesn't work, go to the sales manager with your questions.

Note: I received both an email and text confirming my '24 order shortly after it was submitted. The 45 day emails are unreliable in that you may or may not receive them. Similarly, it's not uncommon for people to not receive the confirmation email.

Also, most sales people have limited experience with retail orders, so something to explore with your salesman to determine if you'll need to work more with a sales manager. At my dealer, my sales guy has pretty limited knowledge and I've been checking in with the GM and the AGM for updates.
 
Currently have a 24 Lariat Tremor Sport Ultimate on order. Had a few questions wanted to see if anyone had any knowledge:

1. Noticed that Ford put up the truck builder for the 24 Lariat and currently when you apply the sports package it does not show the color matched bumpers. The description shows it is included, so maybe the truck builder just isn't working properly?
2. Also on the truck builder, I noticed it no longer shows color matched mirrors for the tremor sport package. In fact it doesn't matter what color truck you select, they all appear with black mirrors. Again, hopefully the truck builder isn't working (sports package description no longer includes color matched mirror caps.) I hope black isn't the only option. I much prefer the color matched mirror caps.
3. I noticed on many 23 Tremors I have looked at and called about, even though it has the lariat ultimate package, you do not get all the features. In particular, the advanced cruise control. Does anyone know if the 24 Tremor with the Ultimate package will get you the advanced cruise control? Certainly not a must, but is a nice feature to have.

Any and all knowledge on these topics is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

At least it makes my life easier to submit my order back to granger. I wonder what that glacier gray color looks like as long it’s not a mix between the azure and Area 51 greys. I was thinking the same thing regarding my resubmit order to Granger. What did you originally order?

The online build and price is not very accurate. The order guide usually is, but there have been a few exceptions like LED tail lights and the color of Tremor stickers.

Thanks! It appears that all mirror caps on Lariats will be black. Disappointing to see. Both SAP and BAP will have body color front and rear bumpers according to order guide. Still provides very little insight on the adaptive cruise control on the Tremors.

Tremor package has no effect on Adaptive Cruise Control. According to the order guide, it comes with KR and higher trim levels and with the Lariat ultimate package (96U).

Yes I agree according to order guide it does not have any effect. But I have yet to see a 23 Tremor with the Ultimate package that has adaptive cruise. If anyone has one, please share.

Yes diesel is Mexico. The Godzilla is made at the Windsor Ontario plant that made the 351 Windsor V8 engines. Sounds like this plant mentioned in the article unless they have two engine plants in Ontario. Not sure where the XL engine is built.
 
XL 6.8Lis also made in Windsor Ontario. So both non diesels would be impacted with a Windsor strike.
These days inventory is Just in Time. So if a strike, I would expect to see limited availability of XL trim (and Godzilla all trims) and then exhausted availability in the weekly dealer notes starting next week Tuesday.

These engines also go to Ohio plant for 2023’s model year production in October.

Pretty sure anyone that has an October schedule date cannot change engines at this point since the engine is part of the VIN number.

My 2023 Tremor has Lariat Ultimate with adaptive cruise. Took about 30 seconds to find where to turn off that annoying feature. Will turn it off on the 24 I ordered as well.

The current online build not being VERY accurate is very important to understand.

The current one does not allow a Tremor in XLT or Lariat. The Order Guide specifies Tremor is available from XLT to Platinum.
There are many other issues with the online build. Really surprised Ford can’t get this right. They have tons of issues on the new F150 2024 online build too.
I know they are trying to simplify things for 2024. But it the team trying to implement the 2024 build gets confined, how are consumers and dealers supposed to figure things out. The 2024 Super Duty is the best reference but it also has issues. For example the order guide says the 3.31 differential is only available in Regular and Super Cab. It says crew cab required higher ratio. Clearly not the case.

But really speaks to too many options and a need to simplify if the order guide and online build can’t keep things accurate.
 
My 2024 Limited was scheduled for 10/9, two days later moved back to 10/16. Doubt that sticks.

I was able to build the exact truck I ordered, a Lariat Tremor, the night they went live with the 24MY builder. You must start at the top and select configuration and wheel base first.
 
I really hope this is also just a glitch in the online builder but for the 24 KR it appears as though they got rid of the stone gray for two tone and replaced with the the bronze color. Not a fan at all. I might have to change my paint color now
