2024 MY Super Duty Order/Schedule/Build Thread

I just noticed that after making a small change to my order (placed on 8/11) on December 29, the preview now shows a line item "Job #2 order". It previously had Job #1 order there.

Does anyone know when Job #2 begins?

I think all of them produced Feb on are Job 2. I changed a couple of options in mine in Nov and it changed it from Job 1 to 2 as well. I saw a while ago they were targeting the balance out and move from 1 to 2 around Feb.

My order changed to a Job #2 when I added the Tremor package at the end of November (order date 10/13/23, priority 13). In December I received an email with a build week of 1/8/24. It was built on 1/8 and showed shipped on 1/9. My dealership emailed me this morning that it is off the train in the Bay Area (CA) and is waiting to get on a transport truck to Northern California.

Longer than that. Not ususlly until it is "in Production". Mine just this morning went to "in production", but still no sticker.
You are right…I have been staring at screens it seems like forever and they are all co-mingling now…

Had to go back to scheduling notes posted end of Nov. Job 1 balance out was target for end of Dec. So yeah, Jan builds look to be Job 2 AFAIK.

How long did it take for trucking once the rail cars were unloaded? Is this another one of those potential two week waits?

What does job 2 mean? What’s changed?
SD's have Job 1 and Job 2. Job 2 just means second half of production. AFAIK that's when improvements can/are made. Could be software and hardware improvements that needed to be made after Job 1 (example software bug). I don't think it's published or known for sure outside of Ford. I think on some vehicles that's when they can also introduce new options but don't think that's the case with 2024 SD.

Hopefully they get the HUD with turn-by-turn directions reintroduced for the Job #2 orders!

Depends on a lot of factors. Is transportation available, enough vehicles to fill the truck, weather, distance from rail yard. Could be several weeks once it is off the train. Hope for the best, but expect some delay.

After the strike, shipping was pretty quick as it provided time for the rails and delivery carriers time to catch up on everything. Now KTP is rolling hard with 1700 super duty’s a day and the vehicle haulers are busy. They can’t get everything delivered in a day.

Job 2 refers to engineering and content changes. Ford usually bundles all those changes on a single date called job 2. Cost reductions, quality improvements, content changes are all common reasons. Most are minor that are unnoticed.

So is one better to receive a build from Job 2 vs 1?

It depends. The quality improvements are a positive but can be offset by cost cutting changes. When I worked at AAP is was on the windnoise reduction team.. The team reduced windnoise thru several changes in content - added deadner, thicker padding etc. At job 2 5 months later most of the improvements were eliminated to save $1 per vehicle. I also saw dozens of improved parts be implemented at job 2 that corrected warranty issues.

If anyone is looking to replace the crap tie downs Ford replaced for the Box link system here is the Ford OEM part number for the interface and cleats. Interface HC3Z-9928408-AA Cleats HL3Z99000A64A. If you are looking for aftermarket then that's cool too.

Received the scheduled message this morning. F-250 Platinum Tremor 6.7 HO. Ordered on 16 Jan, scheduled build week of 4 March. Dealer and I could not believe it was scheduled in under 48 hours. Almost feels like a mistake.
