Water Intrusion to Fuse Box - Whiteface Ford

6 months after buying my 24, I had all kinds of electrical issues and eventually, it wouldn't start. The circuit board in the BJB was so corroded, it looked like battery acid ate it up. I had never touched the lid, so not sure how water got in there. I bought a sheet of rubber on Amazon and draped it over the sides of the BJB lid and so now the water just rolls off the the rubber sheet. It really is a bad design.

I read about a guy that worked on a fleet of these trucks and kept having this issue. What he figured out was when you're going down the highway, there is high pressure in the engine bay from the air coming in. Water would wick through where the BJB lid fits on the box and eventually the circuit board would get wet.

Here is what my circuit board looked like.

I’m surprised (maybe not) that they didn’t use a conformal coating on the boards. Hell, even most residential AC units have coated boards to keep the moisture out.

Thanks FoMoCo, this should get you past your 3yr/36mo warranty obligation.

The part in the box didn't match the part on the box. Dealer confirmed it. I was able to return it.

Yes, I ordered the same part number from the Whiteface video and got the same part you have pictured, dumps onto the battery as you said so I took it out and going to wait for a better solution here.
