Water Intrusion to Fuse Box - Whiteface Ford

Sounds good, I’ll order the OEM part this weekend and work on reverse engineering unless someone jumps in first.

Is there a desirable filament for these from everyone so I can put together run times and material cost which I’ll share. Not looking to get rich, just get paid for my time.
I would use petg because that’s one that I have and I know it’s better than pla, but I’m not sure how it will hold up under the hood with the heat based on some quick googling.

This is an export from the database my additive manufacturing business uses. We never use PETG for high-heat applications, including under the hood. ASA is generally going to be the most cost-effective material to use in this application that still leaves an acceptable thermal resistance margin. We're at capacity but I'm sure someone here will get a solution put together soon.

FilamentEngine CompartmentApprox. Tg / heat limit*Description
PLA❌ No~55–60°C / 130–140°FGlass transition far too low
PLA+ / Pro PLA❌ No~55–65°C / 130–150°FStill softens/creeps with heat
Silk PLA❌ No~50–60°C / 120–140°FPLA plus weaker additives
PETG⚠️ Limited~75–85°C / 165–185°FCan soften/creep in hot engine bay
PCTG⚠️ Limited–Good~85–95°C / 185–205°FBetter than PETG, still temperature-limited
ABS✅ Yes~100–105°C / 212–220°FGood general engine-bay material
ASA✅ Yes~95–105°C / 200–220°FABS-like heat resistance; very durable
HIPS⚠️ Limited~90–100°C / 195–210°FHeat okay, mechanical/chemical properties mediocre
Polycarbonate (PC)✅✅ Excellent~140–150°C / 285–300°FHigh heat strength; tough
PC blend✅ Yes~110–140°C / 230–285°FEasier printing; heat depends heavily on blend
PA6 Nylon✅✅ ExcellentcomplicatedExcellent mechanical/heat resistance; absorbs water
PA12 Nylon✅ YescomplicatedTough, chemical resistant; less stiff at heat
PA6-CF / Nylon-CF✅✅ Excellentcommonly 150°C+ HDTExcellent stiffness and heat resistance
PA-GF / Nylon-GF✅✅ Excellentcommonly 140°C+ HDTStrong, stiff, heat resistant
PC-CF✅✅ Excellentcommonly 140°C+ HDTExcellent heat/stiffness; expensive
PETG-CF⚠️ Limited~80°C-ish TgCF adds stiffness, not much heat resistance
ABS-CF✅ Yes~100°C-ish TgStiffer ABS; good for brackets
ASA-CF✅ Yes~100°C-ish TgExcellent general-purpose engine-bay filament
Polypropylene (PP)⚠️ Depends~100°C+ usable rangeExcellent chemical resistance, but flexible/creeps

After a few iterations I think I have something workable. Kept it pretty simple. The bolt is temporary and would be replaced with a proper lynch pin. Let me know what y’all think!

okay we need some high speed low drag engineer type to print up some and sell them to us. I cant I am programming my VCR.

Looks like others are on the ball with this, so I'm going to bow out. Can't wait to see finished products.

I encourage you to still try a design. It's always good to see different iterations!
