Very Interesting!! - Auto Insurance

I wonder how much of the rates in Florida are being driven by weather which is also affecting the home insurance markets. With the rise in frequency of floods were seeing, that's leading to greater numbers of total losses.
This person is getting a great deal on his rates, and he is on Florida!

Given the reports of the shrinking number of insurance companies covering FL I'd think differently.

I was being purely speculative given the insurance challenges in Florida on the housing side. Was curious how that would impact the auto side. With all the flooding we've seen across the east this year, imagine that would have some impact in rates since (as I understand it) those vehicles would be total losses. That's great to see that some are still able to get good rates in FL.

we can waterford 33 inches - we should get a discount on flood coverage!! :ROFLMAO:

I would love to hear others rates. I feel Ike I am getting raped after seeing some of your premiums and that map above. Been with my carrier for years. Full coverage on all cars, car rental coverage on my and my wife’s car and all with $500k liability and $500k uninsured motorist coverages. I have a 21’ F250 ($2400), wife 22’ Infiniti Q80 ($2500- she has a rap sheet a mile long on car wrecks), 24’ 4Runner for my 20 yo ($3200) and an 07’ Lexus IS for my 17 yo ($3300). Paying in full plus bundled discounts gives me a total premium for all 4 vehicles right at $10k/year (roughly $2500 a vehicle). In Texas in the worse county for car wrecks per/capita.

How do you all compare?

'23 F250 Lariat Tremor full coverage - '24 GMC Yukon XL Denali full coverage - '83 CJ7 liability only - $10K per year. No kid drivers yet, just me and the wife. No recent claims. Same deal as you....bundled with home owners/umbrella yada yada. loyal customer for 10+ yrs. pay in full Houston, TX. - CHUBB insurance.....I will say they do take pretty darn good care of you.

It does seem odd to compare rates without having a detailed list of all the policy factors that drive rates to have a more apples to apples comparison: deductible, rental car coverage, policy limits, zip code, parking situation at night, types and ages of vehicles insured, mileage driven each year, number of and age, gender, years of driving experience, and record of each driver, whether bundled with other policies, types of discounts offered/qualified for...to name a few.

Every few years I shop around to see what I rates would be for home, auto and umbrella. Consistently Liberty Mutual and Travelers Insurance come out ahead on rates. Experience with Liberty Mutual has been good so I've stuck with them. Although this thread is a good reminder for me that is about time to and shop the rates again to see if I'm still getting the best rate.

FL - $777 6 months, full coverage wife and myself 42 yrs old for 2021 F250 Tremor, $1250 for year on 35 ft 5th wheel (full time living coverage). No home bundle, etc.

Guess I can't complain!
