[updated] Stereo Install in ‘23 platinum

Yep. Nobody goes back there in my situation so the slight raise in appearance won't be too annoying.

Thank you! Yes I'm using the PAC unit to integrate the AMP. Unfortunately it only has the output for the door speakers. The tweeters I'd need to put the T-Harness behind the dash and it was just much easier to run new speaker wire to the tweeters instead. I got it all in and running yesterday but it is in serious need of a tune and RTA and I just don't have time to do that this instant. I'll post up some pics of the amp rack completed and some of that aux wiring soon though.

I'm only running 2x JL 10" under the seat and even thats a lot of thump! 4 would be wild!
Did you run a component setup up front? If not I wonder if that would help since the wiring would go into the crossover and then to the door speaker and tweeters. 🤷‍♂️

That’s the YouTube link to Marks channel if anyone’s interested checking it out. I’d imagine it would sound pretty BA! Sometimes driving to/from work I don’t want to hear myself think lol (not to mention, getting a massage would be nice 😂)

I love Marks videos. He does great work!

There are components up front. Addison Voce 6.5 and tweeters. After realizing I crossed the subs over waaaaaay to high (120) and that I had connected the wrong leads from the PAC to the amp (the left rear was playing instead of the right front) it sounds much better. Still needs some tuning though.

Put the sound deadening in the rest of the floor this week too.

I had those subs in my old truck. They were only ok and didn’t last very long. Seemed to blow pretty quick and I didn’t even play that loud. Used them to replace an older set of jl audio 10s that had seemed to last forever (12 or so years), with magnets getting larger over the years, these were the only ones that would really fit in the previous ones place underneath my rear seat. Hope you have better luck with them then I did.

These are the first good pics of the 23+ rear wall I have found, thanks! I am planning a build for a 24 F350 KR that I have coming and the pics really help...

I have a few questions if you do not mind?

1. What is the box labeled SWITCH PROS? Does that have something to do with the Pro Power onboard system?

2. What amp racks are those? MTI's site says that the 22 and down amp racks do not fit so I was planning on buying a 1/2" sheet of HPDE and making my own rack.

3. I am also going to deaden the back wall, doors and headliner but wasn't sure if doing the floor would make much difference on these, do you notice much when you did it? A lot of back and forth discussion on DIYMobileAudio about the benefits so was curious.

4. What did you do with the jack, move it somewhere else or take it out?

I have been working on some individual pieces to 3D print on Fusion 360 and have a basic idea for a layout. I too will use the PAC via TOSLINK to a Helix P Six Ultimate powering 3x Morel MT450's and 3x Xcelsus XXM325's (will be running a center and all active), DLS Ci44 running Audio Development W800neo's in the front doors, Sony XM-GS4 running BLAM 165 R2C's in rear doors for rear fill and a Helix P One via TOSLINK from the P Six to a MTI Stage 4 with 3x JL 10TW3's because they did not require a seat lift.

Pulled the seats, mocked up the amp rack and applied sound deadening to the rear of the truck today. Also ran 0/1 Power cable! That aluminum body is sooooo thin lol!

Still need to apply deadening to all the front, all the doors, install door speakers, tweeters, wire up Blackvue camera and battery system, switch pros unit on Power Tray. Lots to do… made a little progress thought!

EDIT: Also 3D printed a block off plate for the opening left by the factory sub!
Do you have any pictures of the (I'm assuming) ground wires running through the floor (image 4247)?

You mean from the back side under the truck?

Sorry I missed this!

Switch pros is an auxiliary switch system for accessories.

MTI racks. There are late and early model 23 with different configs. I called MTI and they sent me both.

Massive improvement deadening the floor. When you get the carpet out, you’ll see how incredibly flimsy the aluminum panels are and how half assed the factory deadening is.

I pulled the jack. There are relocation kits I believe but I’m running 37” tires and a hydraulic lift kit so the jack is pretty useless. I did keep the spare tire lowering stuff in my box toolbox though. I need it to access the hydraulics if there’s a problem.

I’m wondering how you find the volume on TOSLINK. I’m running to JL and find it’s barely loud enough and can’t get more. I also ran RCA and might try a fresh tune one there to see if it’ll go to 12

Thank you so much! This post is awesome! I'm picking up my truck today & I'm already itching to do an install!

Thanks again for putting this up!

My pleasure! If you need sound deadening I have almost an entire roll left from MTI and a couple of speaker surround gaskets. MSG me.

what's the total cost for materials/electronics?

I wouldn't even want to do the math. The Amps came out of my old truck (JL Vx400/4i $1200 & JL HD750/1 $1000 ), the Blackvue DR970X with cellular module was about $1k, the stuff from MTI (box, sound deadening, subwoofers, block off plates, speaker surrounds, PAC Pro, etc) was about $3500, the front speakers Audison VOCE 6.5 $700 came from my old truck, wiring was a couple hundred bucks, the switch pro (not part of the stereo but pictured in the system) was another $1k. I'm sure I'm leaving stuff out. It was a lot for sure but I couldn't be happier. I did an amateur tune and it sounds great but I'd like to take it for a professional setup sometime soon. Still lots of other stuff to do on the truck before I'm happy with it but it's coming along nicely for sure.
