It could make the text hard to read. My preference is to keep the labels with the same visual style from release to release, but not married to the idea.

I have an idea that could work to add a topo map around the label, but would need to test it out to assure it looks good. Those who have Found North bottles would have an idea of what I'm thinking.

What about removing the weave background?
What would a topo map look like back there?

So worked to mock-up what adding a topographic underlay behind the label might look like with the amber hue of whiskey behind it. This is what it might look like. You'll have to use your imagination to picture that on a bottle. The clear label with the topo would start/finish on both sides of the Blendery's normal front label (we affix our label to the back). It makes it a little complex as I'd have to affix the bottle label on top of the clear one and the clear one would have to deal with the tapered botte shape.

This is a stitch of two different maps, on the left represents our Saturday route and on the right represents our Friday route.

The team at The Whiskey Blendery reached out this morning with news that made my day: that 13-year rye we picked has gotten even better than it was when we tasted it. Remember how I mentioned these barrels are shifting by the hour in this Dallas heat? Well, this one moved in exactly the right direction — so rather than risk it drifting back, they're dumping and bottling the barrel today to capture it right at its peak. When your barrel's on a hot streak, you don't sit around and wait. This is going to be every bit as good as what we fell for in the tasting room, and then some.

And since we've hit this milestone, I want to give you all the first look at the label

This is the debut of our Tremor Rally Edition — the theme we landed on for the fall bottles. Where the spring release celebrates the Tremor of the Year, the fall bottle celebrates the year's marquee meet-up and biggest off-road run of the year. For 2026, that's Moab, so the label leads with Delicate Arch lit up at sunset with the snow-capped La Sals behind it — about as unmistakably Moab as it gets, and those warm red-rock tones look great against the black and gold.

A couple of notes on what you're seeing. This is a draft, so treat the artwork and layout as a work in progress. And the age and proof are still preliminary — we've got it at 13 years and right around 107 proof, but I'll lock in the final numbers once the Blendery confirms them after bottling. Everything else — single barrel, 95/5 rye, the Rally Edition theme — is set.

On ordering: I expect to have the purchase link ready next week, once the bottles are filled and I've got final counts in hand. I'll post it here the second it's live, keep the window open long enough for everyone to get their orders in, then batch it all for shipping — and hand-deliver to the Moab crew wherever I can.

Big thanks to @MVI for being in the room on this pick, and to everyone who's followed along and weighed in. This one's been a blast to build together, and we're almost to the finish line.

Ok, so I am really (really!) late to this thread and missed the releases I would have really enjoyed. Not into rye much, but will buy a bottle for the occasional Manhattan that I enjoy.
I have a bottle of Ironroot cigar blend (IIRC about 114 proof) that I will bring to share at Moab. I needed an excuse to crack it open anyway.
@DXT2023Tremor : if you are bringing the rye to Moab, I will pick it up from you there. On edit: make that 2 bottles. One to open and one to put into my cellar.

It's funny how many people I run into (my wife included) who say they don't like rye whiskey. I personally don't like the really herbal ryes that bring a lot of dill notes up front. To me they taste like someone took their lawn clippings and juiced them.

I have a growing collection of rye whiskey as I've found my way into bottles that bring more of a bourbon profile to them. This rye is very much like that - and if you weren't paying close enough attention, you'd think it was a high rye bourbon.

Either way, I'm curious what the non-rye drinkers think of this release. When doing the pick, we had one that was a more traditional rye profile and this one was really unique and we thought brought something special.

I'm looking forward to it greatly. I don't mean to say "I don't like rye"; that's not accurate. It's just not what I prefer when sipping. There's a number of mixed drinks though that are fantastic and one cannot substitute the rye for something else. I make something called "The Don Draper" (although to my knowledge he never had such a drink in Mad Men). It involves rye as the primary with Drambue and a couple of other ingredients.
That said, I do enjoy a really good rye neat or on the rocks.
