Truck broken into!!!

Wow. Those MFers knew exactly what they were doing and went at it with precision. All easy to fix stuff if they did manage to take it. This will definitely be on the back of my mind any time my truck isn’t locked up in my garage. Good luck and thanks for showing/telling us everything. I’m assuming you called the cops?
I didn't call the cops, they were clearly no fingerprints anywhere or any cameras. Just going to fix her and keep her safe.

Fngerprints not that important....but DNA, well, that's the deal! Always call, yoiu never know. Plus you're likely to find out if or how many other vehicles were entered in the area. You should at least call to make them aware, they may be tracking this activity in your area.

Nothing you can really do either on how they broke in. Just have to set up with better external protection to catch them if it happens again.

Lol this ain’t CSI. Cops won’t care at all.

I can tell you....we do....we pull DNA from every car break-in that we can and either store it or submit it immediately to a repository.

Cops in Miami don't give a shit? they are a pain

I've had two vehicles broken into, in my driveway, over the past 15 years. And one at the curb in front of the house longer ago than that. I reported all three. And, yeah, nothing ever came of any of them, at least that I know of. But, I still figure that if everybody decided that they weren't going to report this stuff, thieves would have it even easier. If there's a rash of them, at least the cops know it's occurring. If there was a bunch in one night, or a big cluster over a few nights, maybe it would be worth their time to investigate?? But they gotta know to know.

The curb one, when I was much younger, I caught him in the act and chased him (unsuccessfully) for several blocks on foot. It was a '67 Chevy small window (neat old truck with a 283). My next door neighbor there was a deputy sheriff, and he gave me grief for chasing the guy. I was younger and dumber, but had already formed my opinion on criminals.

I hear you, too bad you can't file a report, The repair cost are going to add up, will your insurance company help out or do they require a police report???

Not sure, I'm going to start adding up the cost of parts. I can paint it myself, I know this truck has a fancy style of paint that will be expensive since my front bumper was replaced a couple of months ago. My deductible is $1000 so I'm probably going to jix everything myself.

yeah, you rates will climb if you keep having claims so pay now or later

So today I woke up to an alert on my phone from fordpass saying that my hood was opened and the alarm was sounded at 2:30 AM. I went out to the truck this morning and I could see the hood wasn't fully latched.
Inside the truck nothing appeared to be stolen including my garage opener (thank god). However the little tray in the center console was removed, I guess they were hoping for a spare key in there. But wait, there more! The fuze panel in the passenger foot panel was opened and my floor mats were put in the back. My guess here is that they were trying to cause the horn not to sound.
I know 100% that the truck was locked, I haven't driven it a couple of days and the mirrors were folded in (I am a freak about locking my truck). The only way they could have opened the truck is to have a second key or hack the truck with one of those signal extenders or whatever.
I have no clue why they would open the hood.
Thankfully I still have the truck since it seemed they wanted it over whats inside of it. (nothing)
I will provide updates if I have any.
I hate thieves. No one can have respect for other people's nice things. We need to do what they do overseas with thieves when caught

There are YouTube videos showing how to replace the driver side door handle with a passenger side handle. This effectively removes the cylinder lock found on the driver’s door and prevents a break in. They also show how to install plates inside the door to stop the lock from being Jimmy’d. After all that the thief will just break the window, so are those anti-theft devices worth it?

Not worth it, you can't open the door if the battery dies

Another Update: They did not open the fuze panel to disable the horn, they actually just unplugged the connector at the horn so now I have to take the grill off. The only reason I can see them opening up the fuze box is for the ignition switch. I should be out a couple hundred bucks in parts and idk how much for paint

This answers so many questions

UPDATE: Lock is broken and door doesn't lock (the pin doesn't go all the way down), fuze panel over is missing and horn does not work. The lights were shut off and the radio reset which tell me they disconnected the batteries. The brake pedal was rock solid upon start up which tells me they attempted to start the truck repeatedly. I opened the rear door and the bolt cover for the door handle fell onto the ground, maybe just a coincidence. She is going to need a new handle and paint with lock cylinder and who knows what else. This makes me wonder why I still have the truck. They clearly know what they were doing, something must have gone wrong. My thought is maybe there is a software they can use to start and drive the truck away, maybe that system doesn't work for 2020my trucks. Idk, here are some pictures
As I was reading your issue, I thought they may have used some channel lock pliers and broke the lock. I had the same thing happen to my current 2016 F150. It is an easy way to get into the truck without anything. Simply pull the handle, grab the locking mechanism and twist. It will break the plastic within the door and they can open the door. I have had a Jimmy Jammer installed along with a punch plug on my F150 and will be doing the same on my Tremor. I am attaching pics of my door after they broke in and after I had the Jimmy Jammer installed. I had this done on all doors. It removes the locking mechanism, so they key will no longer work. I strictly use remote unlock or my door code to get in. I am SOL if my battery ever dies, but I am willing to take that risk.

Fucking assholes! I don’t like to use cursewords but in this case I will. In 2007 I had my 1990 K5 Blazer stolen right from in front of my house about five days later it was found out in the pasture burned down to the ground. Prior to them burning it down to the ground they stripped everything in the truck of any value. I had the truck completely restored to better than new condition. My dad and I spent four years restoring this truck. To make matters worse I had spent $15,000 restoring the truck and I spent three months fighting with the insurance company to get them up from $3000 they wanted to give me for the total loss to $6700. Something that was on replaceable in the truck was a camera that my wife and I had left in the truck full of pictures of our children that we will never be able to replace. Ever since then every vehicle of any value I have I keep locked with a high-quality steering lock as well everywhere I go. I have seven cameras around my house and a mag lock on my entry gates to my home. It is a damn shame we have to live like this....
