I love sleeping in my truck (made it perfect to that with porta potty, curtains, fans, lights, etc) and I prefer to stay in mil bases - just learned not all of them allow sleep "in the truck" (arriving usually late at night, I check in in the morning and was told I cannot do that, but I cannot get why my truck is different from a truck camper....), so bought an alibi tent for next time, if they want to see a tent, whatever. 19 nights spent in the truck, other than the heat everywhere, I love the mobility of it instead of pulling something behind.

I can only convey what I recently learned after screwing myself into having to buy another new set of 4 tires. Load rating doesn't matter. Load index does. The Duratrac's that come from the factory are E rated. The Ridge Grapplers I bought are F rated. Thought, "great, these are better than the stockers!" Not true. The load index on the Duratrac's are 129/126Q The load index on the Ridge Grapplers I'd purchased were load index 125. Keep this in mind when researching tires. Good luck!

The load index is 132 or 4409 lbs. the Same as the Westlakes I am pulling off. Price is reasonable at $890.00 for the set mounted and balanced. Just looking to see if anyone has run the Hercules tire brand before? they have good reviews and are made in America...

I'm sorry, I thought you meant for the truck. I have Westlakes on my 5th wheel too, but know nothing about trailer tire brands and very little about truck tires either for that matter. I'll stop weighing in.

Just got back from a week of “camping” or as my wife says “glamping”in Angel Fire, NM towing 1700 miles roundtrip from the Houston area. This truck handled it like a beast including through the mountains.

We were there three weeks ago. Did the VIP Flashlight Tour. Very cool.

Highly doubtful that a WDH is indicated. My ORV is 7500-8000 loaded and I'm awaiting delivery this week of a Shocker to replace my Equalizer. The Equalizer was necessary for my F150 but the 900-1000 lb tongue weight doesn't even faze Mjölnir. The Shocker has sway bars available but I didn't even order those. The Shocker is available with a 3" shank which Gen Y does not offer for its Torsion Hitch. I also minutely studied every YouTube available for both and it was clear to me that the Shocker has much more range of motion plus it just stands to reason that the adjustable air bag will offer greater cushioning.
We'll soon see.

Did you get the shocker? My TT is 7700 lbs and thinking about pairing with my current blue ox WDH. I’ve heard they work well. Feedback appreciated

I got the Shocker but haven't used it yet. Your trailer is a bit lighter than mine. I decided not to combine the Shocker and my Equalizer. I don't think we need the sway control. I got the Shocker ball mount that has the attachments for their sway bars if I decide I need them but I doubt I will. One big advantage of the Shocker is that it's half the weight of the Equalizer.

Made it to our week long pit stop before heading to Glacier. This site was a last minute fill in after we had to plan around cancelled Yellowstone stays, and we really didn’t know anything about it. It’s an awesome little place right along a creek feeding the Missouri River. Prewett Creek RV Park outside of Cascade, MT.

There are ~22 spots, all level gravel spots. We get deer that come through the campsite each evening and Big Horn sheep that come through during the morning to grave and lounge around. It’s making for a relaxing stay.

It's a beautiful area! Used to live by the Airport on top of the Butte in Great Falls. Went to school in Ulm, and played basket ball in Cascade!

Yeah it’s a really pretty area. We went to the Buffalo Jump in Ulm yesterday. Having fun poking around the area.

Sounds like you got lucky and didn’t meet any trucks with overhead campers taking the pass. When we did the run last year in the truck they weren’t enforcing the 21’ length limit and had quite a few butt puckering moments with people taking it with large overhead campers on the truck. With my luck met them in the narrowest parts. Power fold mirrors are why my truck remained un-damaged by just inches. Unfortunately my buddies excursion didn’t fare so well. Fantastic drive though hope to do it this fall is the sxs.
