what's the hitch weight on that? How much free payload do you have left?

After my truck I'll be looking at RVs and not sure on choice between 5th wheel and conventional travel trailer.

I have about 750 lbs of payload left if the trailer is loaded slightly higher when empty. Not sure on the hitch height but the Tremor is higher than my old 2015 3500 Silverado , but the Tremor squats more than the Chevy. I had to air out the tires on the Tremor first time I hooked up the trailer just to get under it. Now when I drop the unit it sets at a higher preset. (there are manual pins in the legs and I had them retracted last time I dropped it off with the Chevy, had I have known I would have extended them). Its all good. If you get a 5th wheel or have one already you will need to make some minor adjustments on a level surface. It just takes a short amount of time and it's easy.

Eventually I would like to get a flatbed and a Bundutec camper to put on it. Short term, I'll probably just get an ARE cap and enjoy the simplicity of that.

Picked up this little guy last weekend. 1997 Jayco 5th wheel with bunks (in great condition for 23 years old). Doesn't necessarily need it, but I'm working on some plans to paint the outside and add some color to match the truck. Just need it to cool down outside for a while! Its only about 6k lbs, but truck does what she needs pretty effortlessly. Impressed with the 10 spd trans and 7.3L.View attachment 4327

What 5th wheel hitch are you using? I ordered my truck with the 5th wheel prep package, and only later realized Ford doesn't recommend using its 5th wheel hitch with the short bed trucks. I've read on eTrailer where people have used the B&W hitch that works with the Ford puck system. Hoping to get some insight. Thanks!

I ordered the CURT hitch. Drops right into the puck system. Pretty simple and beefy. I was checking out reviews on the BW 5th wheel hitch as well, but this was a little less expensive but with just as good reviews. Hope that helps!

I should add that I DO have to be careful when turning and backing up as I can't quite get past about 70 deg or so without the corner of the camper contacting the truck...... probably why they dont "recommend it". I haven't had any issues getting it anywhere I need to though.

My rig with the old truck. Its a 324TSBL from Forrest River, 40ft, 9k dry with a 1,200lb tounge weight. The old F250 felt plenty safe, but worked pretty hard to pull it. So we upgraded!! I'm anxiously awaiting my 6.7 F350 Tremor to get back to camping!

Do you have the 7.3 or PS ? I didnt see a PS badge on your pic just curious my tremor will be here in a month and i tow about
9-10k conventional and im really excited to ser how it will pull considering im using a 07 f150 on 35s to tow it right now and definitely can't climb a big hill faster then 25-35mph but that speed helps me get 10-11mpg lol

Enjoying our 2020 Tremor and Raptor plus the Smart car for this trip instead of the motorcycle for doing side adventures with our Choco Lab puppy, Miss Kimchi. In Wyoming right now for Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. Our fave campground is Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort in Felton, California.

This is our set up;
2020 F 350 Tremor, 6.7 (yes i'm one of those No sticker guys...) pulling a Grand Design 337RL , 5th wheel.
Trailer pin weight is right at 2,670 lbs , trailer weight is +/- 12,370 lbs , loaded up. this was our first trip with the Tremor and going up and over South Mountain via interstate 70 west was (as my granddaughter puts it) easy peasy Lemon Squeezy... set the trailer brake at 7, loaded the trailer info. into the truck, set the tow/haul mode and used the engine brake on occasion. very pleased. reset the fuel mileage on the way back home and avg. was 12.7, not bad i think...

It’s a 7.3. Pulls 9th and 10th most times. I’m not aggressive and even in inclines rarely drops lower than 8th.

ZROBECK! He has his tremor on 40's and tows a Black Series. Honestly the only guy here Im Slightly envious of. Not To mention he has two Tremor Of The Month Wins..LOL

While they look amazing its certainly not what I am after. Those look like more of a destination trailer.

The Black Series can be towed up mountains and through rivers. I hate that Black Series has made me have tunnel vision. Other Than The Bruder, Ive yet to find a better off road worthy trailer option.

Definitely. These are not for off road use. More for the tamer side of camping.

There are others that are marketed as off road, or there are camper trailers, but these three have a reputation of being able to endure more punishment for longer than anything else. The others shake themselves loose on the corrugations and/or rot in the tropics.

Let's see your rigs, talk camping and share favorite campgrounds. Here's my current setup. Its a 25 FBT Airstream. It has 900lbs tounge weight and weighs around 7300lb fully loaded. The wife and I love to camp at corps of engineers campgrounds, our favorite is Indian creek on Mark Twain lake in Monroe city, MO. Camping so far with all the new influx of campers hasn't been bad so far.
