Tremor Imposters

I wonder if some folks seeing my truck think I'm trying to impersonate a tremor, I'd find it laughable if someone was offended about it though. I have zero desire to slap a tremor sticker on my truck, its not a tremor, I purposely decided not to order one, why would I try and say it is? But I did put on tremor running boards and cut down my airdam. Those just appeal to me functionally for clearance and appearance (and I would have ordered them ala carte if it was an option). With the BAP package it has the appearance of a tremor if someone wasn't educated on the right tires/wheels.

I originally had a non-Tremor 350 on order with these rims. The only thing I didn't like was the raised white letter tires and the dealer was going to reverse them when the truck arrived. Just personal preference - truck looks great, regardless!

Yeah I am still debating on leaving alone, reversing, using a blackout marker.

I can actually see a glint of white rotating in the mirror when driving and I look, but I could also learn to ignore that too.

I hate stickers...I always take them off, but after reading this thread I just might have to get a magnetic "Tremor" set for my LB with Carli. I guess I enjoy ruffling some queen's feathers more than I hate stickers.

Why would anyone leave the factory Tremor sticker on anyways and be offended if someone felt they needed them...LOL.

Let's face it 98% of the owners will never go rock crawling and 85% will never go off road, excluding graded dirt roads. SB trucks are grocery getters for most people and the Tremor package is for "feel good" looks. Anyone doing any real off roading is going to upgrade all the suspension anyways. This Tremor package is a sales and marketing gimmick aimed toward the guy that wants a lifted truck, but doesn't want to do the work or pay someone for a proper lift kit.

Good luck with those magnets on an aluminum bed.
I suppose the purpose of a truck depends on the Owner and where they live.Different strokes for different folks. We lived in Lead,SD prior and Our old Bronco has been through the Dakota Territory Challenge. Our Super duties Tremor or not could never go there but We need our 4WD trucks here.

Gorgeous truck! I bet there are some that would confuse it for a Tremor just because it has the Black package. For some reason BAP is associated with the Tremor package even though it's completely unrelated to it. I've seen those headlights referred to as Tremor headlights haha.

I only got the tremor package for the wheel/tires, for the most part- the rest was fluff for me. I'm super picky about wheels and was pleasantly surprised by the design choice Ford went with. I'd have spent well more than the Tremor's $4k pricetag on aftermarket wheel, tire, lift, and shocks anyway. The shocks are decent enough for me- if they were lesser I'd probably have replaced them already. My only complaint really is struggling to find decent mods to give the truck a signature look for myself... once the trans issues are sorted for me I might slap on a whipple, but from a visual aesthetic I don't have any inspiration for the truck at the moment, which kinda sucks.

Yeah, Ford's decision to use a wheel that had been in use since 2017, on the XLT trim, and just make it black seems to have been a good one. Funny how just a color change can make a wheel that was mostly ignored now desirable.

I'm scratching my head bro.

This is an amazing truck.

The stock goods supplied are enough to get dirty, get places, and hit the highway. Most rock crawlers I see are towed by a SUPER DUTY TREMOR.

Good luck buying a brand new truck, and spending another 25k. Smfh.

Fords giving you pearls.

People who enjoy ruffling feathers are just as much of a queen as someone getting riled up about someone else's build choices- they both seek conflict as it (typically) makes them feel better about themselves.

The topic of offroading has a somewhat subjective definition, as the extremes vary. I'd argue that the vast majority of offroading can be easily handled by most stock 4WD vehicles with some clearance (excl maybe a change of rubber). It's really the extreme stuff that some people get into where significant modding truly comes into play, IMO.

I used to take my F150 and now GX460 + F250 up and down a mile long, 30 to 40 degree dirt and partial gravel, twisting, hole laden mountain road to the farm as well as busted up, declined horse fields all the time. The F250 goes out into fields with a 3 horse slant gooseneck, no issues. No mods required but the offroad tires help.

The way you present your statements is quite a bit immature and argumentative while giving off borderline superiority complex vibes. You've joined a literal Tremor forum and you're here badmouthing it. I wonder if you actually have the audacity to speak to people this way in person or if it's just poor internet manners. I would also argue that pretty much everyone here who can afford to buy one of these trucks can just as easily afford most if not all suspensions upgrades they could desire.

I wound up going with the Tremor package for the wheel/tire combo personally, but my last truck got destroyed by a drunk driver and I lost the money in my mods. I was only able to get the truck's value and the guy had about 20 creditors and other people in front of me for life long, unpaid debt. There would have been no point in suing him based on my lawyer wife's legal advice. In the future I would need to look into getting extra insurance for modifications otherwise. I don't have to worry about losing the value of my wheel/tire/suspension with the Tremor in the case of getting hit by someone whose life is in the gutter.

The lift kit on the Tremor with blocks in the back works great for me and my use case- no issues.

Thanks for your service, I truly appreciate the men and women of the armed forces that believe in defending our great nation!

I joined this forum to read up on suspension upgrades. Kind of funny to find great discussions regarding suspension on a forum for trucks that come with the upgraded suspension.

Anyways...I enjoyed reading your post and many others here. I guess I was just poking fun because I just laugh when people defend the off road capability of the Tremor and think it's a big deal if someone slaps one on their non-tremor truck. Yes, it is a Tremor forum, but I kept the the post in the general SD section that most TREMOR guys probably don't follow.

Have a great day!

Bingo on the insurance side, got bit by that one year’s ago as well. Another thing I have run across is resale on customized trucks. I’ve found it’s much harder to find a buyer willing to pay extra over book value for modifications even well done ones.

As others have said the wheels and tires alone were almost enough to justify the Tremor Package for me as well. The Duratrac’s do quite well for my use over the standard FX4 offering. Not having to explain to the boss why I need to change out the wheels and tires on a brand new truck goes a long way :ROFLMAO:.

If you find the right person you can recover some of the mods. That's why I'm in no hurry to buy another, especially a '23

I have found this sentiment to be true for most motorsports (and other activities) I have participated in over the years.

Ok I'm generalizing a bit, but most don't really know the capability of their bone stock vehicle.

Back on the off-road topic, I've witnessed an old Toyota pickup with a bit larger tires take on some seriously gnarly stuff because the dude could drive and knew his vehicle like it was an extension of his consciousness and biomechanics...

I have a 2021 F350 remor, my wife messed up and bought 35 inch tires on 20x12 with -44 offset rims. It is leveledhow much trimming will need to be done or how much lift will be needed to make them work

Probably should post that in the suspension forum
