Towing

I wasn’t a big fan of Curt until I saw this hitch and picked it up. It must weight 50lbs and high tow rated. Drop height works for all my trailers. Additionally the price seemed reasonable in comparison.
I've got one of those bad boys as a backup. It was my original tow bar before buying the Weigh Safe. I do have to adjust heights between my two trailers for a level connection, so the Weigh Safe makes that easy. But the Curt with the 2-1/2" shank is a beast and always a good choice. 🍻

I love my BW. The ability to quickly adjust the height and flip the ball to suit my different trailers is invaluable to me. Also being able to flip the entire thing inward for flush mount is nice, although i don't do it as often as i probably should :ROFLMAO:

I use a B&W which ISN'T flush. Previous hitches where simple drop hitches that provided me plenty of protection. BTW I don't buy a hitch for "protection", cause in a REAL accident it's not going to do anything to help.
I never said anything about a “real accident” but it does make a difference for protection in parking lots and parallel parking when cars are traveling less than 5 mph. That does actually make a difference in protecting your bumper.

I went with the BulletProof 2.5" Heavy Duty 8" Drop/Rise Hitch the Sway Control Dual Ball option. Extremely well built. Likely could have got away with the 6” drop, but bought the 8” in case I desire to go to 37” tires later.

Reviving an old topic:
After having a conversation with a fellow travel trailer camper and his experience with the Shocker hitch receiver, I decided to make the investment myself and purchased their HD air receiver hitch. Man this makes such a difference. Gone is all the harshness between the truck and trailer due to the stiffness of the F350 suspension and no more cushions on the floor and cabinet doors open when we arrive at the destination. I’ll never pull with a conventional solid hitch again.

FYI for anyone interested, they have two versions with different amounts of adjustable height, and they offer weight distribution versions as well.

You get what you pay for; shocker! Now what made you go with red!? 🤪 Looks good.

Well primarily because it’s installed with an anti-rattle device so not quick to take off and reinstall, and I was thinking about my shins surviving the new hitch. 🥴

I use a WeighSafe for the RV, cargo trailer, boat, and rentals.

RV gets the 6" drop heavyweight TrueTow WDH. Others use the 8" drop aluminum:

I went with the same hitch only in black (theme of truck) and using the 8" drop. I like the less locking pin approach that weigh safe has over the B&W. I was looking at B&W first.
Will find out how it works towing a vehicle from CA to KY. First long trip in the truck.

Usually just some ratchet straps. Make sure you go under the hitch ball nut on your trailer then cross the straps to opposing tie down locations in the bed. Make sure the tailgate is up though or the tongue of your trailer will ride too low to the ground.

Just want to say how the 7.3L put a smile on my face this morning when I had to pull up an on ramp downtown Fort Worth with the WW Steel Cargo trailer in tow.
Stomp the Go pedal and Tremor took me from 0 to 70 mph quickly.

Reinforces the 7.3L was the right choice for me

I just use an old reese hitch I've had for about 20 years.
With an adapter and in the top hole most of the time.
Kind of janky, but it tows just fine.
