Tell me about your favorite whiskey or bourbon

I had Whistle Pig for the first time a couple weeks ago. It was absolutely delicious!

On normal days I drink Jim Beam Old Tub, knob creek, bulleit, oak & eden, and any other random bottle that catches my fancy at the store. ?
I have never seen this one. Gotta check this week if we have it around here. Anything Boss Hog has to be good!

Woodford is my regular go to. Bulleit is usually on hand for an Old Fashioned. Jack is just the American thing to do ??. I like having scotch on hand. Monkey Shoulder is very drinkable. Johnnie Walker black label goes everywhere with me. That’s the vacation/camping bottle.

Had my nieces bday yesterday, so once all the children left…. I bro brought out a bottle of angels envy, which was quite nice, and then he left and took his bottle…. So myself and bday girls dad got into his Michters stash. Was a solid evening

Boss Hog is not a daily drinker. Unless you’re in to $500/$600 a bottle!

Choosing a favorite bourbon is like choosing your favorite rifle or fly rod...

I don't have whisky snob money, but here are my go-toos:

Eagle Rare
Basil Hayden (standard and Dark Rye)
Woodford Reserve Double Oaked
Jefferson's Reserve
Maker's Mark for Old Fashions (sometimes use the Basil Rye as well)

Dad brough home some Willet last year. Good stuff, and just started distribution around here. Don't have a bottle yet.

Correct answer is all of them.

NICE! I noticed that bottle of special weller on the bottom! Hoping to find some of that to sample one day, hahaha!

I also noticed your Norlan glasses on the right, my wife surprised me with a set of those for our anniversary. I think they are really neat.

That Old Rip right there!!!!

My oldest recently turned 21, and we all went to Tahoe (side note, it was the Tremors first road trip!)… So we went to a burger joint there, and they had quite an impressive whiskey selection. In a double whammy of I don’t get to enjoy it often, AND it pissed off the in laws that joined us (cause the price, $80), I gladly ordered a glass of the 12 yr Old Rip. Let my son try a sip, cause he already considers himself a know it all of alcohol… He enjoyed it, but said it was to expensive to get drunk on. “Well son, that’s cause you don’t drink to get drunk at my age, you drink to enjoy, you drink to converse, and you drink to remember”. He still hasn’t learned that, so he doesn’t get to partake in the joy of my whiskey cabinet… :ROFLMAO:???

Excellent choices sir, nothing simple about ‘em.

I have another story about my Bachelor party camping trip, a buddy brought a bottle of Blue, intended for 4 single glasses, after which we would switch to something else… yeah, that switch didn’t happen. LOL

Everyday is 10th Mountain, Jefferson Ocean is my special occasion, and Yellow Spot when I am feeling ☘️
