Switched from godzilla to powerstroke

Come join 30 fellow Tremor owners in Waco April 26.
Thanks again yall! I am going to miss the sound of that 7.3. I had a stainless works exhaust on it also. I cant wait to really use this thing and see the difference though.
If anyone around DFW sees a tall bald guy in an antimatter blue 24, give me a wave.

Lots of good advise here on diesel maintenance. The one thing I would add is to get your exhaust gases up to a high temp at least once a month for 30 min. This happens automatically if you tow, drive distance, or drive on steep grades. If this is a daily driver that only sees short trips in town, be sure to take it out on a road trip and let it eat once a month. The high temp exhaust gas really helps to clear out all of the soot and crap that the EGR feeds into it.

Diesels don't like to sit in my experience. Drive it. When my father bought his 2016 he had similar questions although he was coming off a 99 7.3 diesel. Dealer told him spin the tires whenever you get the chance. My old man embraced this and hasn't taken it easy on his 6.7 diesel. It's got an ungodly ratio of idle hours to totally engine hours. But it's also well maintained. Drive them and maintain them per the book and you should have many years of smiles.

So I traded my 2021 godzilla tremor for a 24 HO. I have never had diesel before. What are the tips and tricks? Do you still have to worry about the glow plugs on start? Teach me oh wise ones!
1) don’t put def in the fuel tank
2) drain the fuel filter monthly
3) change the filters at the specified mileage/time

I swapped a 22 7.3 to a 24 HO last year. It was my first diesel, and for the first few months, it took me twice as long to fill up because I was staring at the fuel pump to make sure I was actually putting in diesel.

I would add the Banks Pedal Monster for a little more fun.

Only thing I would add in, check the water/fuel separator at the tank. Yes it is supposed to warn you if water is there. I can attest after going from hot to cold and back the separator works great, the alarm, maybe. I drained about a quart of water from it without getting a warning. Too me any water there is to much water!

If you had a quart of water in your fuel, you need to buy your fuel from another source. That is a crazy amount of water. Did you mean to say that you are draining about a quart of fluid from the separator? It will drain about a quart when you drain it, but it should be all (or 99%) diesel fuel coming out. Did you drain into something clear so you could see the separation of the diesel and water?

I did the exact same thing lol . 2021 7.3 Godzilla Tremor to 2024 tremor 6.7 HO diesel and I love the diesel way better

Ef diesel

This particular trip started out in KY, to FL, then to north of Cambridge MN and back to KY. All fuel stops, LOVES or Flying J's. This was the only time I had it occur to me. I've changed the fuel filters at each oil change in the 7500 mile range with most of the time very little water if any. Yes i know the difference between water and diesel. That red tint is a give away! LOL.

I've never only gotten a quart of fuel from the separator/filter at the tank, as much as 2 gallons but most of the time about 1/2 gallon.

The ol' 23 mileage is slowing down now that I have a 24 as well, but she is about 125K miles and just getting broken in!
