Fantastic getting to meet @DTX2023Tremor and @Godzilla/Tremornator. I certainly appreciated DTX's wife waiting on us as we popped hoods and strobed lights.
As DTX mentioned, we were able to ride in a fully option pintop in a 2023 F250 diesel.
Let me start there... Kody at TMX was awesome. He pinged me on FB after i put out a post asking for test rides. offered a test ride. He doesnt know me from jack but the whole experience was as if I was riding with a buddy. No pressure. Just a chill ride and tons of information from the many questions we were asking. They werent salesy at all. If you dont need to persuade me/sell me on your shop, that says something in my book.
If you're in the DFW area looking for services they offer I would strongly recommend considering them based on this experience. @TellurideTremor Jason had just left when we showed up.
the Pintop rode pretty darn well. what i've read/have been told is pretty much spot on with the Pintop. I need to ride in a fully optioned Backcountry now to compare (again, i'm looking to compare on-road manners and see HOW different the two are). @AZsurveyor I need to find a way to ride with you b/c Icon is another company I want to consider. Maybe not as popular/prevalent but the few on here i've seen with Icon, have said good things.
DTX did have a good idea: Go ahead and replace the rear leafs and shackles. That might be where i start while I figure everything else out.

Unless you are wanting to lift the back by replacing the rear springs, I would recommend you take off the rear shocks and go for a short ride. The harshness in the rear of the 2023 and newer trucks is from the shocks not the springs. The shocks are over damped since they changed the shocks in 2023. This makes for a very harsh rear suspension with an unloaded 7.3 truck like mine.
I added the Carli rear shackles and fox 2.0 adjustable reservoir shacks and can’t believe how good it rides without replacing the springs.

Very good chance it was mine, although they mentioned an uptick in having to fix Carli installs. Timing seems to be directly related to when Carli started allowing more shops to sell/install. Heck, 4 wheel parts now sells/installs Carli
TMX told me they are installing Carli on multiple trucks per week on average, so they have seen just about everything. They know the smallest details. I know it’s a small thing, but I even appreciate they marked all the bolts so I can do quick visual checks
