Supplemental Cab Heater

I haven't seen anyone mention the heated wiper blades.....which I have and enjoy. There is an electrical grid at the bottom of the windshield, where the blades rest on the glass. It's looks like a small version of rear window defroster. I never heard of it before it happen to be optioned on my 2020 F350 diesel.
They quit having that option after the 2020MY. Can’t get them anymore on the super duties.

Interesting. I have a 22 platinum, window sticker has no mention of that. Didn't even know it was an option.

Discontinued in 2021. Not sure why.

Came across this video today on YouTube. What a job! And on a nearly new MY23 Super Duty Powerstroke Tremor, too. Looks like you may be able to retrofit the supplemental cabin heater, after all! Not that anyone would want to though. I just had my dealer amend my current order to add this and the block heater after watching another video on how he spec'd out his truck. Probably will never use the block heater but much as the case with the supplemental cabin heater, you can't add it back in down the road for the price it would have cost up front.

Little disconcerting that the heater core is this damned involved to replace! Keep that coolant changed in your trucks to help prolong it's life as long as you can. This was an all-day job for a very experienced and good Ford tech, too.

Noob question. With the engine block heater. Do you have to unplug it before you start your truck?

Naw dawg, send that shit. I would still remote start my truck too. It's just a small 1k-1.5kw heating element similar to what is in your water heater. I use to leave mine on my 6.0 plugged up almost 10+ hours until I got a timer on that outlet.

There was a guy on YouTube a while back that did real world testing with a truck with the Supp heater and one without. His results were the heater made the air coming out of the vents roughly 10 degrees warmer across the board until the truck was able to get the coolant temp up. Not drastic but….better.

Seems like I get the best results by turning the knob to max heat, face vents only, and turning the fan speed real low to like 1 or 2.
