Hey everyone,

22 6.7 Tremor. I’m going to be traveling for two months in a few weeks. Are there any special things I should do while it’s not being driven? My daughter can exercise it ( not that I relish THAT idea 😂) or at least start it up and idle for a bit.

Thanks,

KZ

Look into NOCO battery chargers on Amazon. I know this has been mentioned before in the forum, just can't remember which thread. I've read some members have had great success with letting their trucks sit for a while. Hope this helps.

Or a CTEK battery maintainer. I have about 10 of those. Nothing against NOCOs. I have a few of those too. With that I think your truck will be fine sitting for a couple of months.

Not sure where you live but before i tuck my truck away for winter I run a few tanks of non ethanol through it and get an oil change. Before its final park I’ll make sure it gets up to absolute full operating temperature (exhaust as hot as it can get) and fill it to the top with non ethanol gas. Than pull it in and park it. A battery tender from whoever is a great touch if you can do it. Absolutely no issues with vehicles doing this for 10 plus years. FWIW my recreational vehicle normally are parked from mid Nov until April.

I remember seeing one member here adding the NOCO and a matching 120V shore power plug integrated into the front bumper. I am thinking of doing that on my rig as I can charge it/maintain it from my camper house batteries.

Found it.

It your truck is a gasser I would definitely try and find some non ethanol gas or put some fuel stabilizer it in. Add a charger for the batteries and you’re good to go

A battery maintainer is #1 thing as others have mentioned.
Since it appears you have a diesel, perhaps a good quality "does it all" fuel additive that inhibits bacterial growth, anti gel, etc. in the tank would be a good idea as well. Depending on how cold it will be when you get back, this could be really helpful if summer fuel is still being sold when you leave.
