Side by sides / Offroading

Getting used to a centrifugal trans at the moment and the rear stays locked but that might be me not knowing how to unlock it. Don’t even know where to put fuel in lol.
Yea I kept my Fat Bob as I love the way it rides plus it isn’t costly to keep like the touring bike.

As long as you still have at least one Harley, you’re good chief.

Sorry I been MIA here, been in a debacle with some warranty work with SuperATV, Baja designs and getting the new springs spec’d and ordered.

I guess I drive this thing pretty hard, maybe I should have stuck to my childhood dream of being a rally car driver lol.

In 700 miles I have 4 out of 6 blown heims, a blown bushing on a lower radius rod and my 40” Laser light bar is intermittently functioning. No doubt the heims used are cheap so I’d like to upgrade those at some point. Stripped a wheel stud with my alignment jig so found some ARP studs for a scion FRS to replace them. Wondering what else I can break on this 100hp sloth
Every ride out in a sxs is almost guarantee having to buy new parts! Unless you're not really enjoying it to it's full potential! ARP studs is the way to go, good call! Now you just need upgraded high clearance radius rods, and upgraded front upper and lower control arms, depending on how vulnerable the trailing arms are in the KRX you might want to upgrade that as well especially if you like jumping it! 😂... shoot, should I keep going 🤔 i dont think you want to hear the whole list @majorbison! You gonna need alot of OT brother! Lol! 🤣

I gotta know, how are you driving this thing? My 24 pro r has been to glamis 5 times with zero issues, and I ride arizona desert trials with reckless abandon. My only gripe being driver side whip mount, it consistently doesn't stay in place.

I have a 4 seat (its for sale..) and a 2 seat. The 4 seat sucks. I also gave up motorcycles for them. Years and years beating my body on superbikes. The SxS is more fun imo, I can take the gf... :p

lol I have a long travel kit on it already! Thankfully I had this thing mostly built before I took it home, I don’t know if the stock stuff would have held up.

Getting a crash course on stuff - apparently FK is a good brand of him joints and somehow I’ve blown the PTFE liners

I’m currently trying to find a chromoly with a zerk so I can just grease it and move on but no such luck yet. I’m looking at a brand called aurora, supposedly mil spec.

Anything worth doing is worth overdoing 😎

To answer your question captain - i have some high speed trails / whoops behind my house, a couple miles of the Mint 400 track are right by me. My guess is my 2300lb KRX with the throttle pinned is putting some stress on those joints they might not have been rated for.

My rear axle is always locked, yours may be set up the same way. Reminds me of being a kid with a welded diff the way it chirps on my driveway lol

Wow! I dont know what kind of kit they installed in your car, but if they're in fact real FK bearing heims and the liners are gone that's pretty crazy! 🤪 FK is the best, nothing else comes even close!!! they are the industry standard for every trophy truck build and anybody serious about off road racing... i dont know anything about Aurora or what they offer, maybe they specialize in KRX... you can get custom made chromoly radius rods if they are not already being offered for you car, but I will still stay with PTFE heims, especially if you drive at high speeds ... maybe you just need to find a better manufacturer for you rods... another option aside from chromoly might be a full billet 7075 aluminum is stronger than 6061 aluminum.

7075 6061 we talm about rifles or what?

Jk. KRX is heavy as shit, but I really don’t mind it. All steel, overbuilt, probably contributes to the quality of the ride. Took me like 4 hours to change one spring yesterday trying figure out how to use a compressor that isn’t long enough lol. I’ll do better today.

I got to looking at the suspension pick up points and they’re somewhat thin for the amount of abuse I put this thing though. I was getting excited to maybe have it gusseted and then i started thinking about a rear tubular frame with disconnects and caught myself getting a little sideways. Not a race car lol. But mannnnn… if I ever get the itch for more power that’s certainly an option. QD engine cage would be sick and built pick up points.

Run like a supercharged ninja 1,000cc and a sequential 6 speed trans…in my head it sounds sick lol.

Shoulda done springs off the bat lol. Car is so much faster on my test course, 60mph through consecutive jumps, full soft setting and super planted. Kinda changes the way I’m used to managing the dampening but it feels super solid. I wasn’t stoked on the ride height being only 17”, at first I was trying to set it so the axles sat at 15°. I decided to at least follow shock therapy’s directions and I’m glad I did. Need to get a drone or go pro on this thing.

As I said it before, an off road vehicle that can't handle the terrain can't go fast no matter how much horsepower you get behind it! Sickk Brother!!! im glad you're happy with your new shocks, now is time to eat giant whoops and take on a few jumps to see if she bottoms out! It shouldn't now! 😎

They were pretty tame, and definitely wasn’t getting out of the Side by Side. Definitely not getting between a cow and a calf either way!

Sometimes the desert skies cannot be beat. Probably not too many days like this left in the year so trying to enjoy them. Had a blast, maybe a little too much of a blast and fixed a flat in a 7 eleven parking lot on my way home lol. This thing performs so well, I’m running out of things to do to it. Probably get away from these tusk tires for either some Tensors or BFG’s.

Here is a bit of fun up and around the Moab area in SxSs. Mine is the Orange Honda Talon. Unfortunately, my buddy broke his on the first day so we had to cut our riding trails down to close to humanity. We were up in the Dolores Triangle area. Then, we did Hells Revenge. Unfortunately, we didn't do Fins and Things and 7 Mile Rim as originally planned.

Hells Revenge may be my all time favorite trail. It was the first trail I did in Moab 25 years ago.
