The 1500 is like the 1 ton of the sxs world. I almost bought a used one that was without the North Star. The A/C and fancy doo dads adds 20k.

I don’t know about the rest of the country, but around here and especially at the dunes, the SxS crowd seems to mostly be the “more dollars than cents” gang if you know what I mean. Come pretty close to getting taken out by one on my bike more than once.

It's a 7 hour drive to Little Sahara in NW Oklahoma, I been a few time on the Honda CRF450 to run the sand dunes on the bike.

I've seen some rigs with stage 3 suspensions and twin oversized turbos.
One guy said he had $125K+ in his SxS. This guy smoke the CVT Belt. At least he had a spare , some tools, and a shovel on board

its fun when you hit a snow bank in February !

Im a huge dunner, look forward to going to Oregon one day. But it's not that, it's "If you can't beat them, at least look good trying". As far as driving skills, they don't need any, just a 720 credit score.

You won't regret the trip out here. Winchester, Florence/South Jetty, Umpqua, and Spinreel/Horsfall are my favorite spots. Sand Lake used to be awesome but overrun by the aforementioned lately.

I used to go to Florence once a year with an FJ Cruiser forum crew and at least one of us ended up dragging a broken one back to the lot for their owners usually because they didn't carry a spare belt. They had $3k worth of lighting and lighted whips, $5k in audio system, another $5k in custom wheels but wouldn't part with $200 for a belt.

It has gotten silly in the price department, but what hasn't since Covid?! A general use SxS with A/C and heat shouldn't cost $35K but it do, and this nut-job and many others (a few on this forum) have purchased them and likely will purchase others again in the future lol.

Here in North Texas we have several Kawi Mules PRO FXT's on the Ranch - The only real add-ons were QUACK RACKs for duck hunting.

I had their racks on my last machine, nice stuff, but silly pricey. We no longer maintain our duck ponds, so no need to rig it out for duck hunting. The few times a year I still go, I simply pay a guide to destroy his stuff instead of mine.

Im new to the side by side world but i have some job sites that are going to buggies only on the job site. Ive been looking at them and the variety and prices are insane. Im trying to get some input or recommendations on what to get. I would use it for work but also take it to the beach and offroad parks for fun on the weekends. I saw a polaris xpedition adv that was nice and had ac and heater but was 40k. I could go get a new jeep for that price. On the low end I saw a used CF Moto Zforce 4 sport for 13k. What do yall recommend?

I think the KRX is the best bang for the money. It will dune, rock crawl, trail ride greater than 52” wide of course. Still has a decent bed for utility and gear. Built well and comfortable. It is more play than work, but the work only ones really limit you to just work/hunt. The General is more hunt/work/play and both are in the lower end off the ridiculous price schedule.

If you want heat and A/C there is a new player on the field. the Kawasaki Ridge 2 door. 1000cc class.

As you said, Any HVAC Buggy is going to be on the $30k-$40K spectrum, or more
Polaris make a nice HVAC unit too.

I've heard good things about CFMOTO if you have a smaller budget, the may not hold resale a well as the more mainstream brands
