Custom installed Blackvue 3 channel camera cab :
- LTE
- Large battery for park mode
- 3 channel: front facing / rear facing / cab IR

Technician hardwired cam battery to charge when running (charges quickly in 50 min from 0). Where he is pulling power from does not have power during remote start.

Where would be the best place to get power to charge battery from remote start and regular start?

Did you start with the fuse box?

There's an in-cab wire bundle for the PTO/customer pass through wires. Not sure for the '23 year colors for those wires. Inside that bundle there should be a wire for 12V Key ON/Start/Run.

It's a good start and recommendation, thank you. Want to charge dash cam battery during remote starts.

Remote starts are timed (not sure about '23+) so there's that to contend with. Aside from that your battery pack should be capable to hold overnight, plus charge while driving. Given the SD electrical systems, I'd not recommend connecting anything to charge off the battery while parked. I think there's too many variables with the OEM systems that might trigger low voltage protections.

I have a similar setup with my dash cam that I installed myself on my 21. There may be changes from 21 to 22 to 23+ so you may have to do it a different way than I did.

I used an add a fuse and I think I tapped into the heated steering wheel fuse in the passenger footwell since I don’t have the heated wheel. I found this out by testing the power at each fuse and empty slot while the key was off and then with key on engine off. It is powered on startup and remote start. I haven’t had any issues with this setup including during remote starts.

If you add a fuse like I did be careful you don’t overload a circuit, I knew I was fine since I don’t have the heated wheel.

I like the idea @HeavyAssault had with the pto wires. Had I thought of those I may have used them. Just make sure you put a fuse in line so you don’t mess anything up.
