Receiver reducer

I have a 22 MY with 3” receiver.
I got a 3”-2.5” reducer. I asked my salesman where the 2.5-2” reducer was and he said they don’t come with one, be he walked me over to the parts counter and had them give me one for free. Nice of him for sure. The reducer ford had retailed for close to $80 which was shocking for what it was.

My MY22 was delivered with a reducer. I have a 2022 6.7 diesel f-350 platinum tremor that has a 3” hitch receiver, and it shipped with a reducer from 3 to 2.5”. Photo proof.

For what it’s worth, I never used the reducer. I just bought a 3” shank from bulletproof hitches that matched the receiver. I like that much more.

Same.

We covered somewhere that all 6.7s (no matter 250/350) had the 3". Then the 250 petrol had the smaller, where the 350 had the 3". Then I think it went to COVID supply chain and everything went wonky.

I have a 3-2.5 reducer, but anyone have a 2.5-2 reducer recommendation? I need one for my bike rack but they all seem to cost just as much as the bike rack...

On MY22 and earlier, a diesel Tremor came with a 3" receiver and an adaptor sleeve to 2.5". For MY 23 and later all Tremors came with 2.5"receivers and no adaptor. i.e. if a Tremor came with a 3" receiver, it came with an adaptor to 2.5". At least in the modern era, Ford has not supplied any adaptor down to 2".

What you did is the best way, t did the exact same, but with a B&W. JUST be done with it.

I got a reducer with my truck. But I've never needed it cause I just use the 2nd hole (that's what she said).

You received a 2.5" - 2" reducer?
Sorry--I should have specified. I received a 3" - 2.5" reducer. It was in the under rear seat storage at delivery.

Thanks for that.

Bike rack is 1.25" but it includes a 2" to 1.25" reducer already...and I have the 3" to 2.5" reducer from Ford...so I'll be using 3 reducers to make it fit. 🤯
If it's of any interest. This bike rack adapters go from 2.5 to 1.25 with an 11 inch drop. I think I've got 1 left if you want it.

Cool design but I'm going on a bit of an odd adventure where I'll need a bike for 1/3 of it and then off roading in the desert for the last 1/3 and I'm already worried about busting the bike carrier as it is. If I were sticking to pavement I'd go for it.

Edit: Just realized I could flip it into a lifted hitch... 🤔

UGH!

I ordered the same one from Amazon. The inside corner radius is too rounded and it would not allow the 2” receiver from my weight distribution hitch to slide in.

Ordered this one at twice the cost, though much higher quality and tolerances are much better!

The Gen-Y looked like they just chopped a section of tube, drilled the pin hole and powered it. They didn’t cleanup the inner edges after the cut!

7.3, 250/ 350 almost always have the 2.5 receiver and no adapter is included.
Well, I guess I will find out if this one fits the LDH that I am using. I'll let you know when it gets here. If not, it will be going back.

According to most reviews, it’s usable.
In my case, the adapter was purchased for a 12k Equalizer WD 2.0” hitch.
Several months after receiving the adapter, I found out they make a 2.5” shank, so really didn’t need it and never checked fitment.
When the day came to swap hitch assembly to the new 2.5”shank, I thought it would be easier to throw the adapter and hitch on the truck to break the bolts loose. The 2” Equalizer shank wound not slide in the Gen-Y adapter…
