Raptor Steering Wheel Mod - Super Duty Tremor

FWIW: I reached out to BoostedGrey today to see if its working on a 2022 adapter for the 2021 Raptor steering wheel. YES YES YES.

He said that he was waiting for the new Raptor steering wheel to complete the SD harness then will post to IG when it's ready.
 
Yeah it works on a '22.

Ahhh, my bad. Only issue i see with the new wheel is that you can't revert back to the original bezel/button combo you had (heated SW button doesn't work on the raptor wheel so I used my old Lariat bezel/buttons). @Modman was looking in forscan and it may be possible that the button on the SW will work but otherwise you'll have a dead button/buttons on your new wheel.

Seriously I'd love to do this mod if they had it for adaptive steering, but I don't think it will ever come due to physical size compatibility with the adaptive steering hub etc. .
 
So, I’m looking to gather parts for the swap. I have adaptive cruise and am curious if I can get the ‘non adaptive cruise’ raptor wheel and swap over the buttons.
  • Is there anything in the steering wheel other than the buttons that support ACC?
  • Is there a solution to getting the heated wheel button to work the heated wheel after the swap?
The raptor wheel w/ ACC and heat is almost $1000…. One without ACC is 450-500… if I can swap buttons from my SD wheel to the raptor wheel and have a fully functional ACC, I’d be a happy man.

Bumping this. Looking to do this mod as well and I have the same questions.
 
The more I think about this, I don’t see why we couldn’t pull our adaptive cruise buttons off and buy the less expensive steering wheel with normal cruise control. Sounds like the wheel with the heated button on it is a direct plug and play with our trucks that have the heated steering wheel from the factory. I don’t think we need any changes there. Buy his harness for the paddle shifters and we are good to go. Am I missing anything?

M-3600-F15RRD Steering Wheel and boosted harness is all you need for the swap.

Installed in my brand new ‘22 Platinum with ACC and all functions as it should. Swap out your switches and bezel and you’re good to go!

This will never happen unless the Raptor also gets an adaptive steering system like the SD, which is a system that is fully integrated into the steering wheel itself and you can forget about moving the AS guts from one steering wheel to another. It will never fit. The AS steering wheel if physically larger at the base to accommodate that equipment.

Got the raptor wheel put on today. Scrapped the idea of trying to get the heated wheel button to work so I just switched the bezel over with the original left and right side controls from my truck. A little added bonus: used the cruise control (left side) buttons that came with the raptor wheel to swap over to my ‘15 F150 that has intermittent cruise controls issues while cruise was set. It would just randomly turn off cruising down the highway. Seems to have fixed it. While I was at it, I took the factory wheel from my tremor and swapped it to my f150. The leather wrapped wheel is a big improvement over the stock wheel that was in my f150 lariat. It was a basically a padded plastic wheel from the factory.

Back to the raptor wheel… super impressed! Much better feel in the hand. Sporty and more contoured in some spots and I like the look. Main reason for this mod was the convenience of selecting gears while towing. Not that the column button is hard to use, but those paddle shifters make things easy! Simple project… took about an hour to do the wheel swaps on both trucks and the boosted grey goose harness for the tremor.

Sorry @Tucsontremor , I didn't see your other post until just now. When BlueKilla did this install I was trying to find a way to enable the physical button for the heated wheel through Forscan but came up empty... The steering wheel icon on the Raptor wheel is used for sensitivity settings with EPAS (electronic power assisted steering) system, not for turning on/off the heated element.
