Portable air compressor(s)?

View attachment 259413View attachment 259414View attachment 259415All Ryobi, all work great, no matter how much heat I get about it. (Milwaukee and Ryobi. Same parent company.)
EDIT FOR CLARITY
I have the impact, 1 gallon compressor, mini digital compressor, ratchet and other tools that run on the 18v system. Just like Milwaukee. I have 2/1.5, 2/4 and 2/6 AH batteries. It works for me and my 5th wheel RV.

The cab power is plenty for it and my starlink.
I use ryobi for a lot of 18v and have Milwaukee lately for 12v. I have same ryobi compressor but do like Milwaukee one better.

None from me. My Ryobi stuff has been phenomenal and I have way too much of it to switch now. :p
Same here. Cheaper to replace a crap ryobi tool than the batteries. But then I've yet to have one fail as a home diy user.

I LOVE my Morrflate system. I just posted my experience with it in another thread, and it’s fantastic. I can’t think of a better system when airing up all 4 tires from 20 —> 50+ PSI. It is a little cumbersome dealing with the hoses, so it wouldn’t be my preferred tool for a small job. But for all 4 tires, I couldn’t be more pleased.

It’s neat to read all the positive experiences with the M18 inflator. That looks like it would be more convenient if just airing up 1-2 tires. Looks like it’s about 50% off right now if you want to get it with 2 of the 6 Ah batteries.

For comparison My buddy has a Braptor on real 37s and we air down the same psi and inflate same psi. He has a portable ARB twin(original style) and he can fill all 4 tires while I'm just finishing up my 2nd tire with the Milwaukee. Like I said before Powertank is even faster, like entertaining faster. But.......................He still has to wait for me to head home, so there's that, lol! I have a couple of friends with the 4 tire hose inflators, but when I watch them set it up and tear it back down to store, I don't like all the work.

Anyone have experience with the Viair 400P? Says it works ok on 35”.

I have a smaller travel trailer so not too concerned with an extra long hose and >100 psi.

Just looking for stock truck tires and TT tires. I game a smaller battery operated one that is good for rafts and such but won’t handle the truck tires.

At least eight or ten people replying to this thread! 😝

Myself included. Good volume of air, proper connections directly to battery. Decent carry bag. Compressor could even be home-hack permanently mounted under the truck, with an air hose extension to a chuck.

If going that route, one should be competent in 12V wiring, and consider that the compressor itself may not have been designed to remain in a permanent, under-truck environment... but it could be done and it would work well enough in favorable conditions (stay off saltwater beaches, etc)

I use mine then package it back in it's carry bag. I use it a lot, too. Cheers.

Duh! For some reason I skipped those posts and only saw the ones talking about 440P!

Now THAT something. Being that our 12V 7 pin is 30 amps Thalia would be very interesting.
Mobility. I can use it on the rv or flatbed. Transfer to other vehicles, etc. I'd need to see some reviews.

It is? Holy smokes, that's downright awesome.

Ford gave 2016 F150 owners one 22AWG wire to the tail harness hahaha... nothing more than a voltage signal afaic.

I have a 450RV variant and the 30 amp plug for my 7 wire didn't work.

My guess: I think the truck needs to detect the plug as a trailer somehow.

When you say did work did the 7 pin not have power? Did you step on the brake when the truck was running, learned that the hard way. Did it pop a fuse?
I have a 450p-RV but just hook it to the battery.

I tried telling the truck the default trailer was attached. Then used the alligator clips on a batt.

No time to troubleshoot, will get to it someday.

With the compressor plugged in start the truck step on the brake pedal and see if the plug has power.

How to Activate Power
For factory-installed Trailer Brake Controllers (TBC) on newer Ford Super Duty models (2017–Present), you typically must follow these steps to turn the power on: [1]
  1. Ensure the engine is running.
  2. Ensure all doors are completely closed.
  3. Plug the trailer securely into the 7-way socket.
  4. Press the brake pedal down for a moment. The truck's Trailer Module (TRM) will detect the trailer's electrical draw and activate the 12V charge line. [1, 2, 3]

I have the Viair 450P from my previous truck. When I got my F350 in 2022 I installed the Viair 20002 OBA which I use a couple times a year. I also have the M18 inflator and would recommend going this route or whichever tool brand you have. Dewalt makes a nice one also. My next truck (not anytime soon) I will not bother with the OBA install as I do not use it often enough to justify. Last time I went offroading and needed to inflate, I used the M18 on the front tires and OBA on the rears to speed up the process. The battery powered one is not as fast but does a great job.

I'm surprised no one mentioned one of these. I have one that lives in my truck...

Powertank is indeed awesome though. 8 psi to 30 psi in 40s on my jeep in abou 30 seconds.
