I gotta get a new vid with the 5 star tune with less torque management and revving out to over 6k!
I meant why would you want to meet the person who drives a whipple conservatively.

I total get why you would supercharge a V8.

What are we considering a blower? May have to change my vote. :p :p :p :p

I'm shocked at how many more gassers there are than diesels so far, but it is still early. I might have my eyes opened on this forum...
I had diesels for the last 30 years. Starting with a 96 7.3 power stoke.,04 6.0 and 2014 6.7. Just got a 7.3 gas. My life style has changed, I’m not pulling a big trailer anymore. Plus the maintenance cost are lower. 8qts compared to 16, $100 fuel filters and $1 gallon cheaper at the pump. I’m getting about a 1.5 less per gallon compared to the 6.7. I didn’t buy a F250 for the fuel economy. Not to mention $13k up charge at purchasing

For me it was the maintenance. I do my own work and I am NOT a diesel mechanic. Its all complex, tightly packaged, and mostly a stinky pain in the ass.

Overtime the costs will break even so do your math 3x to verify.
Running a diesel will tow better with better MPGs often staying double digits. Gasser is good until the tow loads are heavy, then the MPGs hit single digits and you can't pass up a fuel pump.:oops::oops:
Stretching any diesel OCI to the max can help, but it's hard since everyone will change their oil at 2,500 miles. 🤣🤣 Diesel fuel filters are a KEY element to longevity. Gassers need the basics but add on the challenge of finding good wires for the spark plugs. Plus any power add-ons (turbo/blower/supercharger) all add on the costs to the motor, and maintenance.

Pick your poison, live with it.  🇺🇲 🇺🇲 🇺🇲 🇺🇲 💸 💸 💸 💸 💸 💸 💸 💸 💸

My 7.3 Tremor is my daily driver. Work is 6 miles away and the drive is a 45mph backroad with one stop sign leaving my neighborhood. A diesel wouldn’t even think about being warmed up by the time I got to work, especially in the winter months. I tow 11K pounds 2-3x a year on anywhere from a 500 mile to 1,000 mile round trip. Rest of the year my truck tows my boat 40 miles to the beach 2-3x a month and drives around empty. I’m the poster child for the gasser use case and so far I have no regrets about going with the 7.3. I also live at sea level in coastal NC. No hills around here. If I lived in the mountains or at elevation and drove more I’d be in a 6.7 Tremor no doubt. But my use case really doesn’t dictate one.

Opposite scenario here. This is my first diesel.

I do tow, but only occasionally. I know your not concerned with it, but the diesel mileage in the mountains is almost double that of the gasser. Or any gasser I've ever had.

Diesel is $2.50 currently at the local Loves truck stop. If it was still $4, I'd be concerned. I drive a lot, exclusively at high altitude. It fits my use case for that reason, and Holy cow the resale value on these things is Toyotaesque.

Crazy how much the used ones go for compared to the gas trucks.

I'm very happy with this truck. It fired right up at -5 with no block heater plugged in yesterday. I let it freeze all night as kind of a test.

I've been issued old 7.3 power strokes for work in Montana, and starting one in the cold was a royal pain in the butt 20 years ago. When you're living in hotels with no block heater plug available. Not to mention slow as molasses once you did get them going.

This scorpion engine is the cat's ass so far for me. Fast, efficient, and quiet

No regrets.

Uhhh, what? The challenge of finding good spark plug wires?

These are like $10 each wire and incredibly easy to change, you don't even need any tools, they just click on.

I agree on the single digits towing, I get like 5 or 6 and it sucks, but you lost me on the spark plug wires!

Hey it's a gasser thing that I don't understand. Plenty seem to have problems with their wires.

If it ever stops snowing Ill get a better video!
Please do. Living vicariously through you and the handful of others on here until I have the balls to void my powertrain warranty.

It sucks. I'm considering trading it for an f150 lightning. Or maybe a cybertruck.

So you aren't honestly truly committed to the idea ???.....Or is it just sort of the A typical procrastination about trading given your situation ????
