This is an email I've sent to a Service Dept Manager. It's long and self-explained.
I bought my '22 Tremor in Sept of '24 with 50k+ miles and still in seemingly good shape. I read some about the Pro Power Onboard and decided iI needed it because I used it a lot while camping, etc in my last pickup. Neither of these two issues I will explain were apparent during my test drive and I was not informed that there were any problems.
I didn't try to use the PPO for the first couple weeks and it didn't work when I did. No orange lights on the outlets came on either. It would work about once every 10x I started up. Between the PPO issue and a bad shift module, I was in the dealership a couple times in the first month. I got a few different explanations in the beginning for the PPO, but eventually they said my truck didn't have the PPO setup at all. It obviously does. Finally, I was told it was the wire connector near the bed outlet (even though the cab outlets didn't work either). I bought and replaced the connector, but it didn't fix anything.
The shift module would be replaced, I just had to wait for a replacement to be shipped to the dealership. I STILL have not been contacted about this even after I made a couple calls a couple weeks apart. The problem has only gotten worse and in reading about similar situations like this, the eventual outcome is being stranded because the shift module becomes completely inoperable.
My phone calls go unreturned and I live too far away to stop off at the dealership. This has been ongoing for over a year and that has never been resolved. I could review my phone logs to show how many times I've called, but I don't think I should have to go that far. I've already done all the legwork as is. I've been way too patient and outside of getting an attorney I don't know what to do. But at what point is it your responsibility to communicate with me? I've done everything I could and nothing has been resolved.
I'm not one to complain or try to smear anyone online. The buying process was great and better than any other dealership that I have been to. The service dept. guys have been very personable on the phone, but that's not the problem. I spent a lot of money on the purchase and time going back and forth to your dealership from my home in Canby, OR.
