My tractor got stuck.

I hear ya. We’ve had 25” of rain here in NE Oklahoma since April. I have grass 3ft tall but no way can I brush hog right now.
Is yours the factory Warn setup?

I feel your pain. Yessir - factory Warn. I have the Factor55 Ultra hook - that's all I have changed. My wireless control battery his died.

Being in/on a tractor you think is about to go over is a special kind of “oh shit”.

I have never used my Tremor’s winch to get it unstuck, but I have used for all manner of things around the farm.

And the official ranking of stuck tractors is:
1. Not stuck-used loader
2. Sorta stuck - used winch
3. Stuck - Had to walk to barn to get bigger tractor
4. Damn Well Stuck - Borrow Dozer
5. Fucked - Wait until ground dries out

I finally broke down and bought an articulating/offset/vertical flail for my tractor. My neighbors love me know....barely...
Chas
That's the way to do it. Many of old timers met there demise mowing along a creek bank with a bushhog when the bank blew out because it was undercut by the stream.

Wondered why you didn't just use the wireless remote - happened to me once - now I carry extra remote batteries in the glove box of all cars - so if key fob or winch fob go - quick change - cheap insurance!

Father-in-law rented a mini excavator so we could demolish and rebuild our lake house. Normally I drive them but I went home for the weekend and he stayed around and did some work. I came back the next week to move some dirt around in the pad and when I went to swing the boom around the thing went to fall over ended up putting my foot on the boom to keep from falling out while I use the boom to keep the mini x from tipping over. Turns out he had pulled the damn tracks in at some point while he was using it. I always check the tracks now 👍

Didn't see his response of his remote dying until just now.

Makes me question, how/why do batteries die with NO use?

Infuriates me when I need something that hasn't been used for 18 months yet, dead battery. WTF

Mine didn't last 1 year. I only had two uses that year. Maybe I left it on somehow.

Self-discharge is a problem inherent to most battery chemistries. Some are worse than others.

I'm confident @Canyon Trekker can give us the deets on why.

How do you “pull the tracks in”?
Just curious for my own (safety) benefit.

Ahh. Thank You Sir. Didn’t even know that was an option.
I’m currently in the market for an SVL-75 Kubota skid steer. I assume only mini -ex’s have that option.
I can see how tipping one over could happen if you didn’t know they were tucked in.
Ouch

Yea - not all of them do it. I used a KX080-4 for a few weeks while I stumped my property and it was a fixed track system. Also a bigger excavator (midi), but most minis now have ways to squeeze into the house kitchen if you want. ;)

Yes it is! Someone else should help with that.
