Lost my keys so had to get dealer to program a 2nd one (purchased via links above of a refurbished one OEM) and they got it working. Went home, followed instructions on first page of this thread about 10 times and no luck. Battery good in 3rd FOB. Wondering the the process changed any for a 2024? On the process, I see a program code on the dash come back with a number - but the remote doesn’t work at all. Any thoughts? TIA.Todd

Not sure if anything has changed on newer models. Make sure to read the instructions in comment #12 as there are steps and time intervals that are crucial. If it doesn’t work once you complete the process, it’s imperative you wait at least the amount of time described before trying again, otherwise you’ll waste your time. The information on the dash indicates the system is seeing the fob, your likely getting a step or the required timing wrong. Many have followed these instructions with success.

Any newer truck owners please chime in if you have self programmed a third fob.

Well I know that modified process works on the 2023 models. 3 fobs for the truck, a maybe a 4th later tonight.

Bumping this thread up for new folks.

You can really save a lot of hassle and money by purchasing and programming a couple extra fobs while you still have your two original fobs. Once you loose one, you’re at the mercy of a dealership to replace one and they will bend you over at the cashier. We’re talking $300-$500 at their discretion.

Issues some have experienced are addressed.

Timing is everything when programming a new fob. Out of sequence or not following timelines specified will cause a programming failure.

Edit: response #12 has very detailed specific instructions.

When you buy a new fob, if it doesn’t have the shiny Ford emblem on the back, it’s a knock off. A genuine OEM fob will run $70-$100 on line. North Coast Keyless sells genuine OEM, but they’ve been known to run out of stock.
