How Low can you go ? - Miles to Empty

Anything less than half a tank I start to twitch 🤪

2020 7.3L gas

had ethanol gas in it from a road trip.

wanted to run it dry before 100% gas (no ethanol)

had a gas can full with me.

made it 18miles after 0 miles to empty

sputtered to a halt on the side of the road

so, my reserve is right at a gallon & a half

Has anyone ran the tank to 0 Miles to Empty and what was the fill up in Gallons ?

8 mile to Empty - Took 31.911 G to fill it up.

IIRC the Tremor 7.3 Gasser is 34G Tank. So about 1.2 gallon "Reserve" from what the gauge shows

I got complacent in my 07 Altima back in 07 and had it starve itself when it still read 5 to go. I had to walk 10 miles roundtrip to a circle k to retrieve 3 gallons of fuel in the Tucson summer. Never again...i don't push much after that.

I ran to 1 mile to empty. There were 4 gallons left when I filled up. I have installed the 60 gallon (diesel) tank so I will not be in that situation again.

I will never know.

I live by, "when it's on half a tank, it's empty." That way I can never be farther away from home than I can turn around and drive back if needed. Or, if I'm traveling long distances, I can never be farther from gas than I can get back to from my previous stop. Besides, that's about as far as Kate can go before she needs a pit stop. I've done it for over 30 years. My previous ride was a 2001 Silverado 1500. The top readings of the gas gage wore out, from wear on that section so much that it would read zero until about a 1/4 tank was used up, and then it would pop up and read accurately. We'll see how long it takes the Ford to wear out the top 1/4 of the sensor.

If I remember correctly put I 32.31 gallons.

As far as I’ve ever gone. This is with the S&B tank too. I’ve always gone by “I have double the mileage” because the tank is nearly x2 the size of OEM, but when it gets this low it goes down quick!
