Those of you who have the Tmat system in a full size short bed can you tell me approximately how much weight can you can have on the mat and still be able to pull it out onto your tailgate for loading ease.? Just trying to understand how easily it slides. My bed is already Line-X coated..

I work for Tmat so hopefully one of the other Tmat owners here can jump in as well.

We tend to see sliding become more difficult over 200lbs. However the easy way around this is to put some of the heavier stuff on the tailgate side, remove that first, then slide the mat out to reach the rest. You can even slide the mat so it is hanging over the tailgate but it does not support weight over the tailgate.

We also have had customers install Tmat on bed slides (both custom slides and big brand). I've added an image here showing it on a custom slide which keeps it low profile. Great build!

So I stacked 5 bags of fertilizer approximately 200-250lbs on the Tmat the other day and it was probably the max amount. It slid out fine but would not want to do much more. Of course I have a Husky bed mat under the Tmat and am not sliding against the bedliner.

We routinely park the 7000 lbs Ram 3500 on it at trade shows. So it can handle the weight. HOWEVER, we have never tested it under a truck camper before and our concern is that, due to it having a smooth bottom, there could be micro movements even with the weight of the camper that over time could shift it if neglected.

I would recommend you slide it out to get the truck camper on. The whole system weighs about 22lbs so it's really easy to slide in and out of the truck bed if you need to. Also it takes about 5 minutes to assemble and doesn't require tools so if you needed to break it down, store it in the camper, and assemble again when you get somewhere else it is easy to do so.

For now the best way is to install your preferred mount directly into the mat with a bolt. For this, I would not bolt through the X pattern unless you feel like putting a big washer on the underside.

Take a look at this very brief clip of a bike mount setup we were showing off at a trade show!

We would love to bring an in system solution for this at some point but not on the short list! The best solution now is to DIY. You do end up poking some holes through a few panels but the panels themselves are $11 per square foot. So maybe you end up needing to buy 2 more panels some day down the line.

I have the 3400lbs camper on a horse mat right now. It has micro movement with and without it. It’s a matter of protecting the bed. I normally leave with 3/4 of an inch between both wheel wells and by the time i get home it’s one way or the other, logging roads make it move lol main thing it doesnt fall out.
