Ford says it had six claims involving six unique VINs when it filed the recall documentation with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The affected lineup comprises the 2026 model year F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, and 2025 through 2027 examples of the Expedition sport utility vehicle.
• The Defect: Headlight assemblies may contain contaminated LED chips. This can lead to a sudden loss of daytime running lights, parking lights, high beams, or low beams.
• Affected Models:• 2026 Ford F-250 (17,512 units)
• 2026 Ford F-350 (10,295 units)
• 2026 Ford F-450 (523 units)
• 2026 Ford F-550 (120 units)
• 2025–2027 Ford Expedition (13,298 units)
• Recall Number: Ford recall campaign number 26C43 (NHTSA Campaign ID: 26V606000).
• Safety Risk: Inoperative exterior lighting reduces visibility for the driver and makes the vehicle harder for others to see, increasing the risk of a crash. A dashboard indicator light will illuminate if low or high beams fail.
• The Remedy: Dealers will inspect the headlight assemblies and replace any faulty units for free.
• Notification: Ford will mail owner notification letters starting October 26, 2026.
