Just did mine today. Three nuts and it comes right off. Like 5 minutes after the grill is off and lying down. When you put the nuts on they create the thread.

Gotcha. Last one I pulled off was about 10 years ago. Couldn’t remember.

The emblem is OEM blacked out as much as you can get from Ford. I had a customer overlay made in gloss black to ensure it was 100% blacked out.

It definitely looks blacker than normal. I would like to do that. My giant Chrome one doesn’t do much for me

Bought my emblem from a Ford Dealer and got the overlays (front & rear) from the link above. That's the only way to get exactly what you want.

Sounds good. I went to install the “factory “ lighted one but didn’t like the unfinished look of the outer oval and the wire harness was a pain. it wasn’t hard to replace the emblem itself but tapping into the headlight wasn’t easy

Bought the vinyl wraps off of KJM Decals and they were horrible. Did not adhere whatsoever. So looking at having a shop wrap them but I saw the Ford OEM emblems have the washer door cutout. mrmag00 , looks like you bought these. Does it come with the black washer door? I see it has the cutout for it. I’d hate to have the black oval ring and a chrome washer door. The link that trmrzla posted on the last page doesn’t seem to bring anything up.

You can buy that same one direct from the Ford dealer for $103...that's what I did. I then fully blacked it out with a high quality overlay.
