F-350 TREMOR On The Way

I went Carbonized Gray and just yesterday was able to finalize my order. The problem was, there are quite a few differences in options between 2020 and 2021 and after sorting through the differences, I requested a change to my order by adding the Lariat Black Appearance Package. I believe the dealer made it a little harder than it really is but ultimately, involved the area rep. After over a week, I received confirmation via a newly printed spec/order sheet that the change was final.

Congrats! Sounds like the order i placed Monday. He told me end of March.

I went on a 400 mile shakedown road trip today and my gosh, what a truck. Shifts beautifully, rides better than my '19 F-250, gobs of power and I really like the Adaptive Cruise Control (I hate it in my Wife's '20 QX80).

Awesome, what color did you order?

March seems about right based on my order date but estimated delivery times appear to be very conservative. I received my TREMOR just over a week earlier than the estimate on the tracking website. I realize destination distance from shipping point can affect the date, but it appears consistent from others I've heard from.

Took the TREMOR on a 400 mile shakedown road trip yesterday and OMG! I love this truck! Shifts are incredible, gobs of power, rides better than my '19 F-250 and it felt great blasting past the Dodge's and Chevy's :ROFLMAO: .

The only thing I noted, which I expected because of my RAPTOR, is the steering is very "active" and I found myself over-controlling the steering. I just ordered the BDS Dual Steering Stabilizer to settle it down a bit.

Anyone have thoughts about this?

Yes these trucks far far exceed expectations.....Ford really hit this out of the park!! It is why I still shake my head every time I get in it even after a year!

The Xpel Fusion Ceramic Coat applied by Automobilia turned out awesome and I also had them tint the front windows to match the back. They’re top notch cats and truly know what they’re doing. Couldn’t be more pleased....

Ravage, did you end up ordering the stabilizer and if so, did it make it steer more like the Raptor on the road at highway speeds? TIAFYR

I tried to, but when I told Stage 3 it's for a 2021, they wanted to verify the specs as they've listed the kit for up to the 2020 model year. They said they'd validate the specs and let me know, but I'll circle back within the next couple weeks to check their progress. I'll post back here as soon as I know something.

Congrats my man. Syched for you. BTW Did you pull out your line on the winch and test it out with your remote. Probably a good idea to test it out tomorrow if you didn’t. Check that middle bottom bolt on the valence is removed before unraveling it.
Second I thought about getting a headache rack but will the camera on the back of the cab be blocked by it. That is something I’d like to know. Thanks. Post some more pics of that sweet beautiful beast. ???????

My middle bottom bolt is definitely a problem when I just checked it. Are we supposed to just remove it? What’s the correct solution?

I saw someone post the instructions for winch install. It’s on this thread back a always. In it, it says turn the bolts upside down but I think someone also said to remove them on the bottom. But if you replace it with one that has domed head. Maybe a carriage bolt so it runs smoothly on it if it makes contact. I’m getting my truck 1/4. I need to have answers myself to tell this cheesy dealer’s service department how it should be done. I will let the line fully out and inspect it as well as the paint for rust spots from rail yard on my Silver Beast. DD from this awesome forum.
Merry Christmas Legmar. I’m looking forward to seeing pics or maybe video of your January TEXAS endeavors with a few brothers on here. Must make sure you post pics of your bad ass Tremor loving lady’s. Peace

I took a much closer look at mine today and the ends of the bolt at center spool (roughly) and on the far right end of the spool (looking forward) are not as close as depicted in this photo. It appeared to me that my cable would not make contact, but just to play it safe, I made a simple fixture and did a custom grind so the ends of the bolts were flush with the clip nuts. I also ground a chamfer and polished/smoothed the ends of the bolts.

I like what you did. For what it’s worth, I think the bolt is dangerous if not addressed (either by removing or doing what you did). My pictures are not deceptive at all. The bolt was very much up in between 2 sections of the rope. It probably just depends on how the line is wound on the spool. I’m concerned someone is going to get hurt from a damaged line that breaks and Ford or the dealerships are gonna be in trouble.

I agree 100%. My spool was wound quite neatly and tight. I unwound it completely and meticulously re-wound it, mostly due to my severe OCD. The best way to address this is to remove the OEM bolts and clip nuts and replace them with the correct length bolts and acorn nuts. Mine are now smooth to the touch and quite far away from the spool, but I can see someone snagging their cable badly enough that it could create a huge problem.

The other thing that kills me is the acorn nuts holding the fairlead in place are rusting. I've already ordered 316 stainless (high corrosion resistant) replacement hardware from McMaster Carr. Since there's a bolt that has to be held with a wrench to remove them, I bought new stainless bolts also.

I really appreciate your attention to detail here.

Got Forscan up and running today and within minutes, turned on Bambi Mode, Police Park Mode and turned off the Double Honk on Exit. Very easy to do and I'll venture around more when I have a few minutes.

And for those that are interested in doing your own programming, I first purchased the VINT-TT55502 OBD 2 Scanner and it didn't work. When I plugged it in, I received a prompt on my laptop that it was installed and ready to use, but the Forscan software could not detect it (ELM Not Found). I downloaded the driver but Windows did not recognize it as a proper file and of course, thanks to the day and age we live in, I immediately had thoughts of TIK-TOK like BS, so I deleted it all.

I found a different scanner that specifically mentioned Forscan in the description; the OBDLink EX. It was about $30 more than the VINT and when it arrived, the documentation certainly had more of an "American" appeal, so it was no surprise when I plugged it in and had it working within about three minutes. I did have to download a driver, but it easily associated with the scanner.

Within about 15 minutes, I was cruising around inside my truck's Body Control Module, saved the factory settings and then made the changes I was looking for....again, very easy.

Forscan is pretty awesome....I’m not making a lot of changes at once, as I like to observe the results across a constrained approach. So, today, it was altering the “As Built” programming for the Instrument Control Panel (IPC) Module; the engine and trans temp gauges now have a numerical value associated with the gauge. Pretty cool....

Does anybody have any idea why the oil pressure can't be indicated?
