EGT and Oil Temps while towing heavy

you all need some sensors.... I'd contact AMDP directly, not through a reseller. Resellers don't always have current information on how the tune handles sensor circuits.

my understanding is that Giovanni is one of the main programmer/tuner for AMDP I would trust his information...

I have never installed a CTS before. Would you run the sensor to the factory harness?

Not sure what you mean there. The CTS uses the OBD-II as the primary connection for any OE PIDs that can be used. On the Edge harness there is an expansion capable connection for their EAS devices (hence other sensors/add-on sensors). I can't recall if there is a max number you can add-on.

For an OE truck you can run just the CTS3, select the PIDs you want to view.
For a deleted truck (let's add-on a few) you can still use the CTS3 to view OE PIDs (EOT/ECT/TransTemp) then add on the EAS EGT sensor, a pressure, sensor, and another temp sensor (say rear diff). You configure the add-on sensors inside the CTS3, then choose your view you want to use.

Here's one from my 2022 using OE PIDs :

You remember what the PID was of the EGT? As that one we both have should be the up pipe into the turbo in the diagram earlier and not the EGR into the intake.

I think the one that states EGT is the manifold / egr crossover pipe. I think EGT1#01 is in the uppipe. Best thing to do, when not in a regen, turn on all 5 egts and monitor the one that has the highest temp and most responsive. You should have something like EGT, then EGT1 EGT2 EGT3 and EGT4

Ah ok. So the new EGT sensor for a deleted truck would have to be run into the cab and plugged into the CTS.
I was thinking the new sensor would go to the factory plug for the old sensor. Couldn’t understand how that would work if the point was deleted / unused when tuned.

and plugged into the CTS.
Technically a section of harness off the CTS, but you are correct. The end where they all connect can stay under the hood.

The main harness is pictured here :

Then you hook up the EAS cable :

Then each "add-on" connects to the end. They daisy-chain one to another.

EAS 5volt Sensor kit (sort of a universal setup for other non-Edge sensors)

As @JTredway shared as well, I'm pretty sure it's the OEM up-pipe EGT sensor that is listed as EGT on the CTS3. I did the same sort of "testing" finding that PID was the most "active" as compared to how I was driving.

You can configure some of the elements of that selection :

I fixed my Low EGT temp issue. As stated before I was using temp probe off my old DPF and had to splice on the connector to plug in to my Banks module. It was either the splice or the sensor that was giving the low temps. I order a new EFT sensor from Banks and a new block off plate that fit the sensor and now senna to be giving the correct temps.
So for anyone wanting to see EGTs through the Banks monitor, you have to buy a new EGT sensor.

My vote is sensor. There are several types that have different resistance values at a given temperature. Glad you got what you needed!
