Do I really want a Tremor??

amp powerstep extreme are supposed to be better in ice. but yes, you do lose the gravel protection, etc.

have you got all your other options sorted? winch/dual batteries/397A alternator? 360° cameras?
Dual batteries, heated wheel, roof lights etc. No factory winch for me as I will be doing a full bumper replacement grill guard right away.

If you can't get the retractable boards from the factory, you can always add aftermarket steps from AMP Research. So do keep that in mind as inventory is limited right now with trucks and all that.
I'm ordering a lariat so I "can" get them. I'm just not sure they are what I want other than being a shorter step in.
Getting longer brackets for the tremor boards seems like the best of all worlds to me. I don't need the upmost clearance anyways.

Keep in mind there have been rumors that the power steps are causing production/delivery delays.

Personally I think the stock steps are great and the height is fine even for little kids and grandma on occasion. And the door protection is a meaningful feature.

I also think the power steps are cool. But if I was on the fence at all I’d go stock and upgrade the steps later if I change my mind. The stock steps resell pretty well from what I hear.

I hadn't heard that so finalizes that decision.

I am waiting a spray on bedliner. I did hear that could really slow things up in production since they are so backlogged. Any truth to that??

@soop beat me to the punch on the reply, but regarding production/delivery delays was my thought process on skipping the OEM power steps and going aftermarket down the line.

I haven't heard about bed liners slowing down any 22 trucks, but historically, bed liners did add 1-2 weeks of delivery time on the Gen 2 Raptor orders.

It's been thrown around a lot but no real proof. Consider this, if you get it done locally you have more options as to how the liner is sprayed on. There is variability depending on who you hire to do the job but local shops answer more to you than to Ford. There is a good thread on the topic.

I have no basis for comparison - no other experience with HD trucks - but me and my wife both thing the Tremor feels great on the road. Yes it's not a luxury sedan, but we still think it rides smooth and comfortable.

So I'm getting ready to order a 22 super duty. Currently have a 13 F250 with the 6.2 gas. Been a great rig but time to upgrade. Trying to decide on regular fx4 or the tremor.... I have to drive a LOT of gravel roads unfortunately. Most of which are quite rough with washboards. So ride quality is my first priority. While the tremor looks sweet, I'm fine with how standard ones look too. I don't really care so much about the highway ride, which is what most of the ride quality threads discuss.
My 2nd concern is for the wife and kids getting in and out of of slightly lifted tremor. Anyone's wives complain about that?? Mine is pretty worried about getting them in and out of carseats.
I got a quote on a tremor. But not on a fx4, so I'm not sure how much of a true upgrade price it is. Part of me wants to get the tremor, to look cool and never have to wonder what if the the ride is actually better. But another part of me wants to save the 4k, I most likely wouldn't upgrade tires and wheels on a standard one anyways. I go through tires way too often as is haha.

Open to any advice. Looking at a lariat value level with the 7.3 fyi.
We bought a 21 tremor, 7.4 gasser and love it, I will say my wife at 5'4" struggled getting in and out at first, now she loved it as well, even the dog now knows to jump high.

Alright i'm fixing to order a tremor this week... (yes I have committed myself to the tremor). I think we have all the options nailed down except for 2.
1: running boards. I would be willing to spend the $900 on power boards. BUT i really like the protection from parking lot dings. I just got a bad one in our F150 so that is fresh on the mind yet. My other concern with the power boards is the snow/ice. Being from northeast montana we see a very wide array of conditions and temperature swings. Plus whatever the gravel may do to them.

2: color, this is gonna come down to a coin flip most likely haha. We are struggling between Stone Gray w/ sport package, or iconic with carbonized two tone. I really like how the stone looks so much different in different lighting, but it does look pretty tan at times... Atlas blue is tempting but i need to see one before committing to that bright of a color haha.
the best defense I've found for guarding against the dreaded parking lot dings is to park far away from anyone. Only way to have a fighting chance at avoiding them....

Bonus, you get a longer opportunity to admire your truck as you walk to it!

1. Some people here have been told by their dealers that their trucks are delayed by bed liners. This is circumstantial at best. Dealers more often than not are just making shit up. But…

2. Even in the best of times the bed liner does add some time (days to weeks) to production time because the bed liner is installed by a third-party in Louisville. The truck is sent there from KTP.

3. LineX & Bullet Liner dealers have been relaying all year that there is a nationwide shortage of bedliner chemicals and the time to book an appointment with them is variable. (A local Bullet Liner dealer I hoped to work with stopped taking appointments until further notice some time in the last month.)

Add all of this together and it’s a gamble either way.

a. Get the factory liner and risk delay of the vehicle.

b. Get an aftermarket liner and risk going linerless for awhile.

Add the fact though that aftermarket liners are much better than the factory liner and choice (b) might make more sense.

However, it’s all moot if you want the Black Appearance Package as the bedliner is included in that and cannot be removed SFAIU.

I've had my 2020 now for about a year and absolutely love the truck however I'm already starting to think about trading and just getting a King Ranch without the Tremor package. My reasoning though is for towing capacity I pull a pretty big trailer with a race car and I know the tremor package takes away from the towing capacity. ridewise I've also looked into softening the ride. mine is mostly in town commute but we have horrible roads where I live and it does get a little bit old bouncing all over the place. The none Tremor would be a bit softer. If you're running mostly dirt and gravel the Tremor wouldn't really offer any better traction than a standard.
Just my 2 cents.

I had a 17 250 and now have a Tremor with a 7.3. Tons more power I’m getting 13.8 with it my 6.2 got 11.5. And it a lot more truck.

I had a 17 f250 fx4 that Ford bought back and replaced with a 2020 f350 tremor and I notice the ride in this is noticeably better than my 250. Mine has drop down running boards so height isn’t a big deal. I also like the rock crawl or Offroad cruise that you can set at 2 mile an hour. All the other modes I haven’t really used except tow haul and eco. Mine were both diesels. I like the smaller plastic thing in the front and the limited slip front, which I have heard is just automatic braking but I have mine in the mts a lot and any little bit helps on a giant heavy truck that probably has no business being up there to begin with

I put tremor tires and wheels on my 2020 F250 diesel FX4. The ride was improved greatly and I have no rubbing lock to lock. I pull a boat that is only 7K, but didnt notice a difference. I have three boys under 6 and they can get in the car easily.

the limited slip front, which I have heard is just automatic braking
Quick clarification on this: it's a clutch-based limited slip differential. The braking from traction control can help the limited slip work, but there are definitely mechanical bits in the differential that are different. :)

I have twin 7 year old girls and they have no problem getting in and out of my tremor with the power running boards...neither does my wife...mine has the 6.7 and we pull a camper with it all the time...I love it

If your main concerns are ride quality and family entering and exiting vehicle I would consider a F150 Supercrew with the 5.0 V8 and FX4 package.
Unless you plan on towing heavy trailers this would be your best bet considering your main concerns. My brothers F150 rides way smoother than my F350.
The only 3/4 and 1 ton truck that ride smoothly empty on rough roads are the ones with air ride suspensions.
Good luck with your choices , I would love to get a New Tremor but unfortunately you cannot get one with a 8ft bed which would be my personal need and concern.

Well sat down with the dealer and ordered me a tremor today. Ended up making a couple impromptu decisions and changed some stuff last minute. Went with iconic silver, lariat value, and blackout package. The blackout now comes with power boards (or at least a discounted option, the dealer was a little confused as was i but I was looking at the same screen he was), add that with the led lights and I got most everything I wanted without having to jump up to an ultimate. Still a spendy rig but if i get what I want now hopefully it'll stick around a long time. Was able to go through a fleet program which saves me some $$ but we'll see how or if it affects build time. Dealer seemed confident it would take longer. Hurry up and wait....
